    What he said.

Neither is barbaric. Unless you consider the lion killing the gazelle to be "barbaric".

Neither one is barbaric in the least, both represent reality and survival.

Come up with a better poll.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Couldn't "reality and survival," in nature, be considered brutal, rough, cruel, fierce and wild... all synonyms of barbaric?

Survival of the fittest isn't exactly what most of us would consider a 'humane' or 'civilized' approach to our own households. Or is it?

I'm not a PETA type in the least.

But I've got a very strong feeling that not one of those 'civilized' leaders who met at the G20 this week had any desire to be seen chopping the head off their own chicken dinner and dressing it in front of the cameras. In fact, our own president 'spares' the life of some fortunate turkey in a very public, if somewhat humorous, act of humanity every Thanksgiving. There's a reason for that, wouldn't you agree?

Anyone that knows anything about nature knows that it is a cruel, barbaric place.

Depends on whether you overcook them or not.
