When Obama was running for presidency, there was a huge hype about it all; paticularly about him, America's possible first black president. His ideas for peace, to move away from Bush's policies, and his distinctive political tone from the Bush Administration was appealing for everyone. But now, the more and more i search this forum, i cant help but notice ALOT of people are completely opposed to Obama's policies, and i see alot of people actually saying good things about Bush (yes, they manage to find good things to say). So i thought id make this poll just to see, how many people favour Bush over Obama, or Obama over Bush?

Remember, just because you may vote to favour Obama over Bush in this poll, it doesnt mean you agree with all his policies or any of them at all; but if you would rather he was in office than the other option.

At this time I cannot compare 2 months of work to 8 years. Get back to me in a couple years. :2razz:

I neither love nor hate either man.

Thats a good point, but base it on policies if you must; anything that will allow you to make a judgement accordingly.

I'm not ready to make that judgment yet. Bush really pissed me off with a couple of things he did like siding with China and Iran when it comes to the human rights of homosexuals. I was also very bothered by the mismanagement of Iraq and how he let Rumy go on for so long with that. However, all in all, I think Bush worked with the cards he was dealt and that he was not the worst president we've had.

Obama has only been in office a couple of months and while I see a gross mismanagement of the economy from Congress already, I can't say much about Obama himself. He does seem to be attempting to make things more transparent but I think his democratic congress headed up by that slag Pelosi and that mildewy ball sack Reid are more of a hindrance to him than a help. If he could distance himself from those two, get rid Dodd and Frank, and reach out to the Blue Dogs, he might actually live up to some of the hype before its over.

bold: Since when are we supposed to label "Homosexuals" as "Humans". Comeeee onnnnnnnnn

(kidding)

As of now Bush, as Obama's done next to nothing I actually agree with outside of things Bush also did. On things I disagreed with Bush on, Obama is doing most of those things.

Its kind of like would I rather get kicked in the crotch, or punched in the face and THEN kicked in the crotch.

Doesnt matter what we prefer.
Watch what they did or are doing and you get Obama=Bush.

Both work for the Bankers.

I said Obama. I know, big surprise there, huh?

I agree that it is too early to compare. But, I know how Bush's Presidency went. I like the potential that Obama's Presidency has. That doesn't automatically mean his will be better, but it has a chance.

I don't "love" Obama, but am very pleased to have a president who:

is intelligent enough to do the job
really seems to have the best interests of America in mind
is not being "managed" by his handlers or vice president
cares about America's reputation in the world
cares about the military, and his responsibility to keep them safe
can pronounce "nuclear" correctly

you have an interesting checklist there. by my own tally obama isn't coming out ahead of bush. do you mean to say that bush has none of those qualities, and obama has all of them?

I would observe that intelligence does not imply sense or even knowledge, that obama is clearly "managed"--what a joke!--that so much more is at stake than our "reputation in the world," etc...

It's interesting that this is even a debatable issue at this point. We're coming off one of the most disastrous Presidencies in history and are now in the very beginning of an at least deeply historic if not hopeful one.
The fact that anyone would prefer Bush, after his proven record of incompetence and failure just indicates how strong the doom and gloom propaganda has been since Obama's rise to prominence, from the previous "he's a terrorist," to the more current "he's a communist." Give the man a chance before you start comparing him to that last disastrous and shameful Presidency which destroyed our economy and brought our name shame all around the world.

I prefer W. I'm not afraid to say it. He was a crappy President, but Obama has already outdone him.

The reason I hate Bush ..

I can't even fathom how anyone with the intelligence of a five year old could seriously announce that Bush was a superior president to Obama. I'm sure nobody really believes that, it's just dogmatic Republican ideology which compels you to say it.

my friend, you are in for a rude awakening.

Obama is like a chef who is preparing a hot and hearty skunk & thistle stew that will disgust us and make us sick.

Those who support him don't know what he is cooking. They think whatever he prepares will taste good and be good for us. All they know is they like him and trust him.

The numbers of those who know what he's cooking grow in size every day.

Power grabbing.
Socialism.
Big Brotherism.

It's too bad there isn't one signature item that can be pointed to which would illustrate any of the threats his administration poses to America.

But in terms of the O.P. where Bush did or didn't do things in a way which we agreed or disagreed with, Obama is changing the framework of government and our society. For the worse.

At least Bush wasn't a threat to our very system.

"None of the selections".
No choice of value is given...
But I do lean toward Obama...and I'd be embarrassed to be a Republican right now..
Politics is too dirty.

Obama has a core of people who will support him no matter what just like bush did.

I like Obama i think he is at least well intentioned however i dont like the sycophants who are alot of his supporters.

Oh, like I misunderstood the past eight years? Bush was a dedicated public servant and his administration did their best to improve the lives of Americans and raise the prestige of America in the world? My friend, I lived the past eight years as an adult, and am in full possession of my memory, so please don't try to re-write recent history for me.
