As much as I disliked Bush. Obama is a threat to this country. Whether he is really an born US Citizen or not his formative years were spent not here but in Kenya and his stay in the US was basicly amoung those that hate this country and what it stands for.

Agreed. Obama right now is following in many of Bush's footsteps. Quite frankly, if you remove the names of his nominees, ignore the gitmo closing and put on a blindfold, you'd think Bush was back for his third term.

Bush is a slang term for Vagina. I was making a pun.

My honest answer to the poll would be "Neither" but that wasn't an option.

But now, the more and more i search this forum, i cant help but notice ALOT of people are completely opposed to Obama's policies, and i see alot of people actually saying good things about Bush (yes, they manage to find good things to say). So i thought id make this poll just to see, how many people favour Bush over Obama, or Obama over Bush?

Remember, just because you may vote to favour Obama over Bush in this poll, it doesnt mean you agree with all his policies or any of them at all; but if you would rather he was in office than the other option.
Relative to the comparison and I say relative because the comparison isn't really fair at this point (eight years vs. a few months), I don't favor one over the other. From rhetoric to the action that is there, I view them as equally destructive.

This seems more like a psychological excercise.

Not long ago, Shadow Serious, I'd have said you were exaggerating a bit. No more: I believe he wants to destroy our country. Some might say he only wants to destroy us to make us BETTER - but I don't buy that.

He took an oath (badly flubbed, in a grotesque foreshadowing) to protect and defend the constitution, not to get into office and do whatever the hell he pleases, with Emanuel finding all the loopholes.

This is my second day of posting here, I never did find all of the rules (don't know what a "binky" is, or a 6a) and I may get kicked off for saying this, but I don't care: I believe this man is flat-out evil.

I must say that so far I like Obama more than I liked G.W. Bush, but as has been pointed out I really cannot make such a judgment until Obama has completed his time in office.

He does come across as being more intelligent and articulate, is certainly spending more time on the job and is getting things moving pretty quickly, and according to every account of him in the news as a diplomat he's quite the statesman.

But, we shall see where it will end.

Re: For those who love, or hate, Obama.

Luckily for Obama, my biggest problem with him is his economic policy, and since we are in a recession my priorities are alot different then if the economy was good. I recognize that you need to spend alot and have a cyclically adjusted defecit. (which FDR didn't have, FDR had a surplus, which screwed our economy. he should of spent more and decreased taxes)

I saw what Bush would do when the economy was good, and that was increasing spending and decreasing taxes. Not a good tactic.

I think in the end, my impression of Obama will be based on if he has a defecit or not. Cause, I know he can't politically increase direct taxes on the middle class. So if he even keepts the debt to GDP level stable, then that would be great.

But I think most people can agree that Obama's foreign affairs are at least better then Bush.
