Here's a hint: the first time I will be able to vote will be in next year's primaries.

    Intresting.
I didn't know most of you were so old.

    It's all perspective, eh?

In a couple more months I'll be in the 24-30 and the 30-40 bracket.

Once you hit 30 it's all over. So the distinction won't matter much.

    Re: Members' Ages ...

Let's just say that I have worn out my first AARP card and am waiting for the second one in the mail.

I have children older than most of you.

And yet, you guys are cool enough to converse with me, on an eye to eye level (so to speak,) without discriminating against me because of my age. I do enjoy talking with you all. It kinda makes fell younger and it keeps me in touch with how the world is turning.

So, I guess, what I'm trying to say is, thank you.

I am reminded of a song from back in my day by a dude named John Prine. It is called "Hello in There." It's all about including old people in your life, giving their voices an ear, and basically just saying to them, "Hello in there."

YouTube - John Prine - Hello in There (Live) - Juneau, AK '08

We had an apartment in the city,
Me and Loretta liked living there.
Well, it'd been years since the kids had grown,
A life of their own left us alone.
John and Linda live in Omaha,
And Joe is somewhere on the road.
We lost Davy in the Korean war,
And I still don't know what for, don't matter anymore.

Ya' know that old trees just grow stronger,
And old rivers grow wilder ev'ry day.
    Old people just grow lonesome
Waiting for someone to say, "Hello in there, hello."

Me and Loretta, we don't talk much more,
She sits and stares through the back door screen.
And all the news just repeats itself
Like some forgotten dream that we've both seen.
Someday I'll go and call up Rudy,
We worked together at the factory.
But what could I say if asks "What's new?"
"Nothing, what's with you? Nothing much to do."

So if you're walking down the street sometime
And spot some hollow ancient eyes,
Please don't just pass 'em by and stare
As if you didn't care, say, "Hello in there, hello."

    Hello Y'all!
