I'll never forget a trip to NYC I made with a friend about 10 years ago... I insisted we visit the Hayden Planetarium, and my friend obliged though he had little interest in it. As we purchased our tickets, the young female cashier looked at my friend, hesitated a second, then blurted out... 'Would you like a senior discount?'
He was speechless. That was his first 'senior discount' offer. Ever.
So yes, there can be a bit of anxiousness about the subject for those of us over 30, or over 40 as the case may be.
