A weapon is considered an assault weapon if it can accept a detachable magazine and has two or more of the following

    A folding or telescoping stock
    A pistol grip
    A bayonet mount
A flash suppressor, or threads to attach one
    A grenade launcher.

    Completely useless

A bayonet mount, you have rifle that fires bullets, who cares if a knife can attack to it.

A flash suppressor, or threads to attach one, not a big deal.

A pistol grip, thats a design style, does not make it more deadly.

telescoping stock, makes a weapon more concealable.

Not to mention, like a sound suppressor, it's a safety feature. In addition to preserving your night vision, a flash suppressor can help prevent getting powder burns on your face.

Only part of the ban I like. SKS costs sixty bucks less at the local pawn shops if it doesn't have a bayonet lug on it.

Ahh but one of the few awesomes they created was the AK.

Kalashnikov should be a world hero for that.

I'd carry a rifle designed by the Devil himself as long as it shot straight and was easy to take care of.
