just because a child could hurt him self, does not make owning a gun unsafe. Like i said earlier lots of things in a home could be considered unsafe.

Without a firearm in the home, you have no protection from criminal elements. The police are a reaction force, not a protection force.
Kids who choke on lincoln logs should have been supervised. Should power outlets look like toys?

I have no problem with people responsibly having a gun for home protection. A big dog will also buy you time to get your weapon and loaded.

I don't have any studies to cite that children are more inclined to play with a gun painted like a toy over one that looks like an actual firearm.
    Speculation

I think it's a dangerous thing to paint them that way. I know enough drunken hillbillies that don't practice gun safety. I see no need to add insult to injury so to speak. People may disagree with me.

    That's okay too.

i think it is not smart either. but your hysteria over accidental shootings is unwarranted....

in 2004 there were 189 I believe. and that included suicides and cases of abuse.

    tragic, but statistically nill.

I painted little keyholes on mine and then whenever a small child is around, I give them some keys.

Yes, I am being so hysterical.

How many civilian Americans were killed by terrorists on U.S. soil in 2004? Statistically nil.

How many would make it statistically significant enough for you?

You are being intellectually dishonest by calling me hysterical.

Do you think we should have hard liquor and cigarette ads on TV again?

How is my opinion of your position being "intellectually dishonest"? I await your explanation, maybe we can all learn from this. Thanks!

We don't have hard liquor ads fully. Up to a certain percentage of alcohol they permit. Smirnoff Ice and Jack Daniels wine coolers aren't hard liquor.

No we shouldn't ban football. It is regulated with safety in mind though.

Should we go back to leather helmets with no face masks like the founding fathers intended?

Typical of the ironic refusal of the gun lobby to accept responsibility for their firearms. If anything causes the banning of guns, it will be the gun owners' obstruction of reasonable firearms control.

    Another drive-by posting, eh?

If you're SO right on this issue, why don't you stand and actually debate, rather than spam and run?
