YouTube - Women sholdn't marry Muslims?

Muslim women are not allowed to marry non-Muslim men(yet a very few do).. Does it make sense for us to "ban" marriages of Christian women to Muslims?
Is this the right direction to take?

I have a friend that is engaged a Pakistani Muslim. She's very much in love with this guy and he with her. This guy as much as a nice guy that he is is VERY attached to his religion, family and customs. This girl on the other hand has always been one of the most a-religious people I've ever known even though her father is a strong Catholic. They haven't even lived together yet and it seems like they won't even live together before marriage. She needs to try to at least see if he's the same person in private as he is with other people. But his family strongly opposes them living together before marriage. Why? Religion. They barely approve of her. Mostly because she's a platinum blond with huge earrings. Life with a Muslim isn't all that hard but life with a conservative Muslim or even a moderate Muslim can be if their families are heavily involved in their lives. This Catholic guy sounds like a prick in the way he voiced his opinion but to some extent he's right. Marrying anybody with any kind of heavily religious upbringing can bring a host of problems not just a Muslim.

I have worked in a country where this is very true. Muslim men were allowed to marry Christian women (in this country Muslim men could marry more than one wife) and the children were expected to take the religion of the father i.e. Muslim. It was also clear in that country that Muslim women would not be allowed to marry outside their religion - and if they did they were either excluded or killed by their family.

I'm not sure what the situation is in this country (the UK) but I have never met a Muslim woman married to a Christian or non-Muslim man who was still part of and involved with her family. There may be some around - would be interesting to see the numbers on this.

I don't agree with any type of ban however I do think it's incredibly wise to warn women about how women are treated in the Muslim faith around the world.

According to the Koran Muslim women aren't allowed to marry non-Muslim men, while men are allowed to marry non-Muslim women.

It makes sense for Christianity to put the same limits on marriage unless Islam liberalize on the whole issue of letting Muslim women marry Christian men.

It was a necessity back then when the wars occured, it is not a rule that muslim men must marry non muslims - It was a exception to the rule.
A Muslim man above all must marry another Muslim.

But on topic, my friend has married a Arab and she converted to Islam. I dislike this incorrect image that all Muslim men will stone a female.
He treates her with the utmost respect and they love one another, so no. No ban should occur

Muslim women marrying outside of their faiths does occur, i know many women who date non muslims.
I don't think the Govt. takes data of such things Infinite lol

All American women should be required to marry Muslims for at least two years, so they learn to appreciate us more. ;)

Muslim women are not allowed to marry non-Muslim men according to the Qur'an, correct. Except Muslim men are allowed to only marry what is called People of the Book, or in a more broader sense - the Abrahamic religions.

I'm not saying Muslim men don't sometimes marry Buddhists or Hindus, but according to the Qur'an this would not be allowed.

Any woman should be allowed to marry whoever they want to.
Islam maybe has some rules about this, though.

Re: Women shouldn't marry Muslims?

Man regresses, if at any level, any government gets involved in who marries whom..
Yet , I would think it would be foolish, too risky, for anyone to have anything to do with Muslims or Islamics..but this must be at a personal lelvel...leave the governments out of it....

Recipe for creating an Islamic State
===========================

Apply this recipe as needed based on the current state of a country. In other words if the target country has already completed certain steps, then move on to the next. Be willing to adapt to the local conditions. One more bit of general advice is the following:

The leaders (secular and religious) in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have spent time studying the ways of power and they know that religion and people are just tools.

1. Remember that when you are weak that you should blend in and very, very few people need to be aware of the objectives and the methods. The mass of the population does not need to know and should not know that there is a plan. Remember yours is a religion of peace. At this point you want everyone to believe you are a peaceful and productive part of society, especially Muslims themselves.

2. Begin immigration, legal and illegal, and start building up a population. Get the breeding engine started young and often. Remember that the younger they start the faster the turnover, the poorer the education of the girls becomes, and this also results in their increased willingness to have large families. Begin recruiting Non-Muslim, in particular women are prime targets.

Creating an Islamic State

I say there should be no bans but that everyone should be aware of the big picture highlighted here.

Just because muslim women aren't allowed to marry non-muslims does not mean that we, a society that believes in the rights of the individual, should ban a marriage just because we disagree with their society or rules. To do so makes us no better than them.

Wow blatant sexism and religious bigotry all rolled up into one package. Women should marry whomever they please, and 3rd parties have no say in the matter.

Women should be very aware that the Islamic codex concerning divorce and child custody is extremely slanted in favor of the male.

Depends entirely on the country, culture and sect of the man and his family.

Please refrain from enlighting those members who may not be ready for the truth. Let them continue living in denial.

I'm oh-so tempted to ask for this 'truth' but i have the suspicion it's the usual "Islam and Muslims are evil and is after the west"
So i'll resist temptation.

You're right. Predominantly in Sunni sect Arab nations where family matters are subject to Sharia law.

Egypt is an example with both religious and secular courts. Divorce and child custody cases are always assigned to the religious court.

All the church did was put out a warning. So I agree with that, wemon should be careful no matter who it is.

As for the outright banning, that is just ignorant. While we are at it lets make it illegal for blacks to marry whites etc. We want to move forward, not back wards.
