He should not, and he will not
I think it was wrong of his administration to bother with saying anything about Limbaugh, and I don't think having a debate with him does anything. If Obama is going to debate people, debate the ones in Congress that actually vote on the bills, and don't worry about what media talking heads say. I admired Bush's "I don't give a **** what they think" attitude towards liberal pundits, and I think Obama should have the same regarding the right-wing media. Engaging with them is a fruitless endeavor.
Now I don't have the hatred hard-on for Rush that some of the people on here do. But I don't think the POTUS needs to stoop to the level of entering into debates with radio or TV talk show hosts, until their Presidency is finished.

He should not; He will not . Obama already won the presidency. Limbaugh is a talk radio host, not a politician, nor is he running for any office nor is he even running against Obama. The only time Obama and Limbaugh should debate each other is if they run against each other in the next election. No politician, especially a president set a precedence by debating with radio and tv celebrities. Politicians have better things to do than get in little spats with radio and tv celebrities, like run our country and try to fix some of our problems. The dems are just helping fuel Limbaugh's ratings with this nonsense.
I will be open and say that Limbaugh is not one of my favorite talk show host, however my opinion would still be the same if it was one of my favorite talk show host like Glenn Beck or Michael Savage.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"
Cicero Marcus Tullius
WI hit the nail on the head.
There's more important things to be focusing on for a President. Playing patty cake with the media isn't one of them. The issue is that Obama was the one that decided to start playing patty cake which spiraled all this.
If he's smart, he'll stop talking about Limbaugh, stop having his administration talk about Limbaugh, and just let Rush keep flapping his lips. If he's stupid, he'll continue with this idiotic one sided thing of having his administration attack Rush but then never dealing directly with the citizen he's attacking.
I voted "he should, he would not" because I'd love to see the carnage. However I agree with Crip and Zyph in reality.
Matthew 10:34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For what idiotic purpose would Obama agree to this stunt?
That's like a little league team challenging the Dodgers to a game.
Sure, the little league team and their parents would love to see it happen because it would be prestigious for them...but why would the Dodgers ever agree to something as silly as that.
