Do you remember President Bush or his Press Secretaries singling out...

Did The Bush or his Press Secretaries single out opposing journalists

  • Yes Bush did this too.

  • No. This is unique to Obama (though The Clintons singled out Rush as a racist)

Blah, Blah, Blah...

Post some proof and not lip service. Anyone can make a ridicules tin foil hat claim.

PS this has little to do with your initial statement and my reply, you know what that means...

:spank:

The standard rightwing excuse....show me a thesis for each of your points. Don't you have some brilliant names to call me as well?

I'll give you Valerie Plame. Every other person on this list I'll need concrete examples of before I point you out to be the liar that you are.

You are lucky you're 3,000 miles from me and anonymous, but then I suppose that's why you made such a cowardly remark in the first place.

You made a claim, now prove it. That is how debate works. :sinking:

The scariest part is that town, Oroville, is just a few towns over from where I grew up, if I recognize the landmarks correctly. It's one of the biggest concentrations of white trash you will ever find in America.

Do you remember President Bush or his Press Secretaries singling out...

... members of the press or private citizens that expressed opposition to him and his policies?

I do not.

We have had Joe the Plumber attacked by Obama-Biden, as was Sean Hannity, now we have had Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santelli and now Jim Kramer all singled out in short order.

They also use Rush to make a larger swipe at talk radio in general, as he is the leader of the pack.

Now, Bush and his Press Secretaries had the pick of hundreds of journalist/celebrities to rag on, but didn't to the best of my recollection.

Obama has had the vocal opposition of a few prominent journalists/radio show hosts... and they have been singled out.

I think it is a pretty creepy tactic but illustrative of who Obama and his Komrades are.

From a strategy perspective, it's a risky but possibly very good move. Limbaugh, fairly or not, is considered by the vast majority of non-listeners to be fairly right-of-center and ideological. If Obama can use him to paint republicans too reactionary and vicious, then it's entirely a point in his favor.

Oh, is this an internet tough guy? Prove your point or leave the forum faggot.

The dems have had 20 years to bring down Rush... .

This is backfiring... an administration going after a private citizen?

ENEMIES LIST: WHITE HOUSE PLOTS LIMBAUGH COVERAGE

A guy with 3-hours a day, and other radio hosts defending him?
They would have been much better off leaving him be instead of making him a factor.

But Obama is true to his Alinsky roots.
Isolate and destroy was the intention behind "don't listen to Rush".
And their endless lies about what Rush's "I want him to fail" means.

Plame and Wilson were not targeted by Bush.

Fitzgerald should have focused on Armitage when it was realized Armitage did the leaking.

That is why Fitzgerald's quick revelation of Blago looked odd; like he was trying to protect Obama.

CNN and NPR good enough for you libs?

CNN.com - Sources: State Department official source of Plame leak - Aug 30, 2006

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage was the source who revealed the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame to syndicated columnist Robert Novak in 2003, touching off a federal investigation, two sources familiar with Armitage's role tell CNN.

The sources said Armitage revealed Plame's role at the CIA almost inadvertently in a casual conversation with Novak, and it is not clear if he knew her identity was classified at the time.

The revelation that Armitage was the source of Novak's column is somewhat anticlimactic for Bush administration critics who had used the story as a weapon in Washington's partisan battles.

Armitage Was Source of Plame Leak, Book Says : NPR

Said to be a notorious gossip, Armitage told several reporters about Valerie Plame's role with the CIA -- but he reportedly didn't realize for several months that he was the source described in one of their articles.
...

Robert Novak then printed a piece in which he identified Wilson's wife as a CIA worker -- in fact, her job at the time was at the classified level. Novak has written of learning about Wilson's wife from someone who was not "a partisan gunslinger."

Try again... Obama has a monopoly on this... and all in his first month !!!

Bush did say he would hold accountable whomever outed Plame's CIA status. The fact that he didn't does make things look bad.

It wasn't quite that simple, was it?

Seems pretty simple, he was Armitage's boss, if he held a meeting he could have discovered Armitage slipped the leak in about an hour. The fact that he never learned that is puzzling. Besides, evidence indicates that Armitage was not the point man in the Plame leak:

Vice President Dick Cheney, according to a still-highly confidential FBI report, admitted to federal investigators that he rewrote talking points for the press in July 2003 that made it much more likely that the role of then-covert CIA-officer Valerie Plame in sending her husband on a CIA-sponsored mission to Africa would come to light.

Cheney conceded during his interview with federal investigators that in drawing attention to Plame’s role in arranging her husband’s Africa trip reporters might also unmask her role as CIA officer.

I'm not sure what you mean.

It wasn't like somebody from his administration was found guilty of outing a CIA agent. Then he could have kept his promise.

Nothing was ever made clear. Was she actually undercover? Nobody was ever charged with outing a CIA agent. Who exactly was Bush supposed to hold accountable when even the prosecutor didn't hold anybody accountable?

Why wasn't the prosecutor able to hold anyone accountable? ;)

Are you saying that Bush's underlings invoked executive priveledge when he inquired about the outing?

But do you not think the president looks foolish signling out entertainers?

But do you not think the president looks foolish signling out entertainers?

I know you asked hobo this question, but I'll offer my thoughts anyway.

I think he mostly looks foolish to his detractors at this point. Yes, people on the left may think so too, but it's not a deal breaker for them. Really, we'll have to see how things play out. We are a results oriented society so we will have to see what the results of this action are. History will be the ultimate judge on this one. It's either political genius or foolishness. The results determine the line between the two.

President Bush said, "if the person has violated law, the person will be taken care of"

So who violated the law regarding outing Valerie Plame? Nobody was found guilty of any crime.

Yeah take it a little further though. Do you think it is going to get better now, or worse before it gets better?

Obama, has elevated Rush to almost an equal.... Why is the president of the US doing this? It is absurd....

You must admit, seeing will's goof of a youtube, Bush handled the dixie chicks like a president, Obama handled Rush like an amateur....

I don't think he has elevated Rush to an equal. To believe this means that Presidents can only comment on other leaders of nations.

How long have conservatives been crying about the liberal media? Bush called them the "media filter". I consider this to be along those lines.

Rush could dispell the myth that he is the defacto leader of the GOP by naming who really is. Why hasn't he done this? ;)

Richard Armatage told the prosecutor the very first day of the investigation that he was the one who outed Valerie Plame, but inadvertently. It all gets very complicated after that but obviously the prosecutor didn't think he had a case against anybody. That's why people were so upset about Libby being convicted of something that had nothing to do with outing Plame.

I reject the premise.
We are talking about singling out individuals.

Insert coin for new game.

President Obama's Chief of Staff is colluding with members of the media to elevate Rush.

I could understand your point if it was some Senator or House Member.
His right hand man?

He has says so, but you would have to listen to him, not third party left wing hacks to know that. ;)

That's a nice nuance. Generalizations are okay, specifics aren't huh?
