Do you remember President Bush or his Press Secretaries singling out...

... members of the press or private citizens that expressed opposition to him and his policies?

I do not.

We have had Joe the Plumber attacked by Obama-Biden, as was Sean Hannity, now we have had Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santelli and now Jim Kramer all singled out in short order.

They also use Rush to make a larger swipe at talk radio in general, as he is the leader of the pack.

Now, Bush and his Press Secretaries had the pick of hundreds of journalist/celebrities to rag on, but didn't to the best of my recollection.

Obama has had the vocal opposition of a few prominent journalists/radio show hosts... and they have been singled out.

I think it is a pretty creepy tactic but illustrative of who Obama and his Komrades are.

Are you kidding? Bush's henchmen even attacked the Dixie Chicks.

I don't personally recall Bush or his Press Secretaries going after anybody particular. But I've never bothered to research it, so I could be wrong. I figure if anybody would have, it would have been Tony Snow since he was a Fox contributor before he was Press Secretary. But I don't recall any particular instance where he singled out Olbermann, Matthews or any of those crazy cats while serving as Press Secretary.

No. And he had nothing to do with the term Freedom Fries.

We keep hearing the sound bite that Rush wants Obama to fail. Everybody knows what he meant but that shouldn't stop anybody from misleading the people.

Obama could succeed and things could get better. But do we want to live in a European style country where the government controls everything.or do we want to live in the land of exceptionalism?

Does Freedom Fries still work at CNN, or did he move to MSNBC as rumored?

Right now it seems a good chunk think Eurosocialism is exceptional.
LOL.
Boy are the ignorant masses going to be shocked when they learn the truth.

I'm sure the Bush administration did this as well...probably just not as loud and boisterous though. However, that does not excuse Obama doing it.

Kieth Olberman is the head of the new democratic party.

We 're just waiting a bit for him to say something particularly outrageous before we break the news to the public. Could take about a day.

Only thing I can remember is Bush had a little issue with Helen Thomas once.

YouTube - Dixie Chicks cap on Bush

here he is, though I didn't say that Bush himself said anything. Pay attention please. The movement against the Dixie Chicks was coordinated through FreeRepublic. Tracing the dirty tricks of Karl Rove is not a conspiracy, it is simply political history.

FAIL

Read the question again:

quote bush on the dick chicks please

We are talking of Obama talking about Rush, you made a claim, now you are moving goal posts.

You have no proof of anything. Please go back to your partisan lair.

So you think George is talking to YOU?

lol, I'm an avid bush hater...

But that video is of him saying.. "They can say whatever they want... but they shouldn't get their feelings hurt if their record sales drop."...

I could only attribute that to responsibility for one's actions... Which the dixie chicks felt.

Listen, I never liked Bush, but that video is not exactly evidence of Bush "attacking" the Dixie Chicks. Hell, he said "They can say whatever they want".

If that's your evidence of Bush et al. going after the dixie chicks, you're reaching.

FOR THE RECORD
Though he personally may have felt otherwise, Bush publicly came as close as you can to embracing his detractors... he OFTEN said... that is one of the great virtues of democracy.

Oh? tell me why you say that?

Because it is an asinine, conspiracy, tinfoil hat wearing, moronic partisan statement of herculean stupidity.

your comment has absolutely nothing to do with this thread and President Bush or anyone connected to him. Then you add a web site and connect it to Carl Rove????

I'm sure this has already been covered, but...

Bush and his administration had nothing to do with people not buying the Dixie Chicks records. He simply commented on the fact that they were bitching about people not buying their records because of what they said about him. He said they can do what they want, but shouldn't complain when people don't want to buy their songs anymore.

Your insulting denials do nothing to minimize the damage that the Bush administration did to countless private citizens who angered them. Of course Bush himself made no public pronouncements. Nevertheless, his minions deliberately tried to ruin the careers of their enemies, and in many cases, succeeded. You complain about President Obama speaking ill of Rush Limbaugh, but he is not instructing people to "get" Limbaugh. Deny it all you want, here is a partial list of those that Bush's henchmen went after:

Harry Reid, Helen Thomas, Nancy Pelosi, Jimmy Carter, Valerie Plame, Joe Wilson, Dan Rather, Jane Fonda, the Dixie Chicks, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Janeane Garofalo, Al Gore, John Kerry, Sean Penn, the French, Muntadhar al-Zaidi the shoe chucker, George Clooney, Martin Sheen, Harry Belafonte, Old Europe, Barbra Streisand, Hans Blix, Al Franken, Bill Moyers, Howard Dean, Keith Olbermann, Ted Kennedy, Michael Moore, Katy Couric, and Oliver Stone.

Obama simply comments on the facts...there is no negotiation with dittoheads. Bush took every slight personally, and used the power of the presidency to get revenge. Don't pretend it didn't happen, we all lived through it.

I'll give you Valerie Plame. Every other person on this list I'll need concrete examples of before I point you out to be the liar that you are.

Blah, Blah, Blah...

Post some proof and not lip service. Anyone can make a ridicules tin foil hat claim.

PS this has little to do with your initial statement and my reply, you know what that means...
