I'm not even sure what this means. You are aware that Bill Clinton was president during the 2000 election?
Oops lol. Yes, I was aware. That's what I get for posting at 2am. I somehow processed it as 2004 with the 2000 candidates. My bad.
Do you really believe Democrats wanted George Bush to start a war?
Yes. We were all pretty mad at that point and war is good business.
The resolution "supported" and "encouraged" diplomatic efforts by President George W. Bush to "strictly enforce through the U.N. Security Council all relevant Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq" and "obtain prompt and decisive action by the Security Council to ensure that Iraq abandons its strategy of delay, evasion, and noncompliance and promptly and strictly complies with all relevant Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq."
Which is the red tape version of saying "invade." How could they possibly negotiate with Iraq about an extremist group they have no control over? That's like Iraq negotiating with us about the KKK. It would never happen. They were just legitimizing military action.
The resolution authorized President Bush to use the Armed Forces of the United States "as he determines to be necessary and appropriate" in order to "defend the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq; and enforce all relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions regarding Iraq."
Again, Iraq did NOT attack us. Al Qaeda did. They used the attack as an excuse to invade Iraq and everyone fully supported it.
