Do you have the right to exercise your rights in private?

Do you have the right to exercise your rights in private?

Which of these things -- these exercises of a right -- should the government not be allowed to require being made public, once exercised.

Please be sure to say why.

As long as we don't violate the right of others, YES.

    Owning a gun
    Having a CCW permit
Choosing to own a gun and/or have a CCW permit should be governed like a driver's license for the gun owners safety and the safety of others.

    Having an abortion
If performed by a licensed doctor then the procedure should be attached to your medical history for purely medical reasons.

    Being a Christian
    Being a Muslim
    Being a Jew
    Hating the government
    Hating a minority group
None of the above needs to be publicly disclosed.

For the recrod, I am almost OK with thre requirement to have a license for a gun under the same circumstances they need a driver's license, and for none of the circumstances that they do not.

But, the question is -- should a state be allowed to have a law that requires the publication of all those that buy a gun and/or get a CCW?

    But... not published. Right?

I would think the right to privacy already covers this. Thread pointless,

Like a driver's license, it shouldn't be publicly available.

I have two main reasons behind gun licensing, which are similar reason for a driver's license:
    1. So the gun owner can quickly be verified by law enforcement as being legally able to own, operate, and in the case of CCW, conceal their weapon.
    2. To enforce education on the gun owner of lawful operation of their weapon.

Not published. Only available at the request of doctors medically treating the individual.
