Even though I personally believe the universe is full of life...
I cannot rule out the possibility of there being a god because life had to start somehow...

Just look to nature. Everything has something that we would consider "above" it that always comprehends a little more than it. And it moves up all the way to what we think is us. And we are the shepherds of it all. Ants are shepherds to aphids. Things are shepherds to things unseen in nature. Complex organisms to micro. And the other way around. But some never know it.

Logic would dictate that on SOME level the same applies to us. And we live with it in relation to what we know. Nature is one of the only infallible truths.
This is God to everyone on any level. Whether their god is extreme or lightly known to them.

I think that's why Hindus believe in reincarnation (that's why I do). It also could be some people believe in past lives or ghosts (emotions from this spiritual energy manifest in memories or hauntings). I think that if this theory were true than people never truly "DIE" but are recycled throughout existance and only the body ceases to exist. But with the body goes the conscienceness, thus no vibrant memory of "past lives". But the "soul" lives on and on. At least that's the theory. What about you? Any theories?
There are astrophysicists that actually entertain the thought of energy based life forms existing in the universe...

with the realm of 8-12 billion (estimated age of the universe) years of evolution possible anything is on the list of possibilities....

perhaps souls are energy based life forms that use an organic based lifeform as a host?

I love that thought! And the only way we will ever know from our point of view is if we evolve through technology to monitor 100% of the realm of light. Monitor every single separated and most basic form of light as it hits one by one. Then compile the data from their. Or unless it somehow chooses to communicate with us and we receive it.

Re: Where do the soul goes after death ?

Boy this is not going to be much fun without the aid of some kind of CDS.

Anyhow I always separate this into two parts. One is what I think in a logical way, and two is what I believe.

See what you think can include what you have been taught, or have learned to believe over time, but what you actually believe is what you feel in your heart or soul that is of a more personal nature.

    What I think is first.

Lets start out with accepting that everything we see, hear, touch, feel, taste etc is part of our basic human senses that we all normally have and understand. Then consider that most everything we sense with these talents is a form of energy. The warmth of a dogs hair, the red light at the intersection, a horn blowing are all forms of energy that our senses are able to read or understand.

Being that this is a short list of accepted human senses etc it would seem obvious that there are many other forms of energy that our senses can not detect, or our brains be able to process.

Some look to ESP and similar extended senses, others speak of intuition, while even others discuss phsysic powers etc. but the point is that there are many senses we not not have or know how to use, and therefore a potential for there to be many forms of energy we have no way of seeing or understanding.

Since we can not even fully understand or sense the things around us I find it difficult to agree with the close minded thinking of "if I can not see our touch it then it can not be real" even though this seems the simple way out.

I am sure we have all seen either on TV or personally things that can not be explained. The shows today on hunting ghosts that show us visions and sounds that were not picked up while people were in the room, but were obvious with video or sound recording. Even those times when objects move with no reason, and can not be pinpointed by science.

Knowing this is would not make sense to discount the idea of their being other sources of energy that we just can not detect or begin to understand, and there is also no acceptable reason that this could include a spirit, soul, or even a supreme being that was a creator or GOD.

If any of you have ever felt these different sources of energy, or the different potential planes of existance, or even just had a glimpse of one of the other senses we posses it would be an intense experience at the least.

This is getting a bit long, but know for fact that our limited senses are missing as much of what is out there if not actually more, and allowing ourselves to ignore this all in seeking some kind of comfort in the denial of what we can not fully understand to be real is holding us back.

    Now for what I believe.

I am believing in a supreme being or God, an after life, a soul spirit or other energy force we do not understand, and also in both heaven and hell.

From investing some time when I was younger (not a lifetime lol) in learning about more than one religion besides what I was taught as a child I have learned that there are as many if not more reasons to believe in a supreme being than not to.

It would seem odd that when man was in his infancy and stretched out across the land that his various religions and thinkings would include certain aspects within most everyone.

Why would so many people of so many different beliefs from so many vastly different places all find they believe that there must be something more to their existance. Also most believe that there was something after death, and just this very consciousness alone would seem to support a GOD And afterlife.

Just consider some of the comments from Ahmed and think about the similarities between Muslims, Christrians, and Jews on many of their beliefs and it starts to like though there are differences etc what were the chances of these very different people believing such similar things.

So yes I do believe in a supreme being aka GOD, and though I can not sense him like a hand burning on a stove I have enough faith and understanding to know there is a higher power out there as well as many others we do not have a clue about at all.

Take a moment and actually read a bible or other religious book of your choice, and see what you find in your head, your heart, and even in your soul.

You may be suprised how much more sense many things can make when you do not demand to believe you are alone because you can not touch something and it requires a different sense that you are purposely repressing.

    Really try it..

Re: Where do the soul goes after death ?

I onced watched a documentary on near death experiences, and only a few have been accurately recorded because the person happened to be hooked up to life monitoring machinery when they died. These people could see their own body and had an accute awareness of everyone's activities in the room, even when they were clinically "dead". In one really interesting a case, a woman who was blind died during surgery, and saw for the first time, but outside of her own body.

In the same show, a quantum theorist speculated that consciousness maybe resides at the quantum level and somehow connects with the physical brain in this way. When the body dies, consciousness can exist in its quantum form via quantum entanglement, but there is no telling how long it would last.

So either the brain has some special abilities that we don't know about which permits this phenomenon to happen, or consciousness can separate from the body, and go... who knows where?

Intresting, but I think that all the "Back from Death" situations aren't like that, I think we must call them : "Inconsciousness" ..

The times I feel the most myself... Is when I feel I have no body at all. It takes a long time of sitting down and thinking about not thinking about anything, to not feel your body though. It is hard to be only thought. But exhilarating for the brief moments when accomplished. So exhilarating it makes my heart beat so much I start to comprehend my body again. And get sad.
