The human lifespan so far is only a fraction of a blink of an eye in terms of lifespan of the universe...

This accounts for why we haven't seen life out there yet and possibly won't for a hundred thousand years

There's that, and also the fact that it's a big damn universe. Another species could have easily had the drop on us by over a billion years, turned conquest and savagery into the purest artform and they'd be nowhere close to finding us.

I say we first try to decide the best means by which we can survive us.

Possibly one of the only two ways humans can survive themselves, is to have a clear and imminent threat from beings elsewhere in the universe. Possibly the only thing that would make humans around the world forget about their differences and bind together as one entity.

The other way for humans to survive themselves is to have an actual God present himself to quell all doubts and suppress any religious disputes.

Heh, in typical nerd fashion, that actually reminded me of a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode in which an alien with superior technology went to a backwards planet and became their god after reading up on their various holy manuscripts and prophecies. Hilarity ensued.

Really? You had a few quotes, some of which did not even relate to an intelligent designer.

No one believes in evolution so why is it an issue on this thread?

Yeah I like those space shows because of how they trigger the imagination and explorer in me!

Thats ridiculous. We have no idea how old the earth is nor the universe. Any speculation on this issue for a lifeform that have been intelligent for a few thousand years is just ridiculous.
