Is Rush Limbaugh a "conservative giant?"

Do you agree with Rep. Phil Gingrey?
 
At best, he is a conservative entertainer, if one is desperate for this "kind of stuff".

Seriously though, I think to many he is. This is evidenced by the lack of criticism of him from his political allies. Gringey's grovelling sure makes it appear that way.
 
He's a type of man who wouldn't fair well in Congress, but still likes to hear himself talk. I've been in the radio business. You have no idea how much of a personality has to be created in order to make every a smidgen of profit. However, I think Limbaugh is the real deal when it comes to Conservative lunatics.
 
He has the right amount of hate, grandiose personality, die hard supporters and detractors to make me believe that for better or worse, he will be viewed as one of the biggest conservatives of his generation. Like a Goldwater; insane maniac one year, ahead of the curve the next.

Limbaugh is no where near Goldwater. Goldwater was able to weather, and thrive in politics. Limbaugh wouldn't last a second in Congress.

Limbaugh is a legend in his own mind, just listen to him and he can't stop talking about how wonderful he is. He's more of a laughing stock than anything else.

I'D like to see a change in the capitalist buy it own it form of media. That goes for both left and right.
 
He is absolutely a giant. He is THE leading Conservative in this country. Name a Conservative who commands more attention or has as much influence.

None of the elected Conservatives have as much sway as Rush. And all the Conservative commentators and pundits in America revolve around or are largely influenced by Rush Limbaugh.

He is even more important and influential than the hugely important and inimitable Ann Coulter.
 
I believe Rush really opened the door for other conservatives to have a medium for their points, and has single handedly kept talk radio from completely dying off. No matter whether one agrees with his stances, or even likes him as a person, they are being foolish if they don't recognize his influence as a broadcaster. Since he is a "conservative" broadcaster, I believe its fair to call him a conservative giant.
 
Despite knowing nothing about real conservatism, he is probably the one of the greatest radio personalities of all time in terms of profit and ratings.

Who knows if he is the most ideologically pure Conservative or not?

He is the leading standard bearer.

A true giant.
 
He is, as many pointed out, a conservative radio show host...
He is no different then anyone else...
except the fact that he gets so much attention - but that does not have to do with him as a person, but rather the rather at times the pathetic media - keying on a radio show host...

They're bigger fish to fry out there...

Why does he get so much media attention? Why did he get media attention at the start of his political talk show career?

He's like anyone else like Trump or Jack Nicholson or Billy Graham are like anyone else. They distinguished themselves by their endeavors and performance.

A conservative giant.

It's ironic that the leader of the Republican party is in the media as he propogates the liberal media attacks despite the liberal's leader isn't a member of the media.

Michael Moore is the king of docs. No one comes close to sales revenue.

they'd rather talk about that then the fact that Michael Phelps was just caught for taking marijuana....And I thought I actually liked that guy...
