I think he likes to find isolated incidents and then attribute it to all liberals. I see it mirrored here every day.

Sure, that's why wherever he goes there are crowds right? It doesn't make sense for a person to tune into Rush for 11 minutes. Everyone knows what time he comes on, so I think it's likely they tune in to listen.

Re: Is Rush Limbaugh a "conservative giant?"

Who is Rush? Rush is a talk show host with a large ego who has a lot of people under his thumb. But is this really what one can consider 'a giant'? If Rush Limbaugh were a rapper he'd be 50 Cent. He talks a HUGE game but at the end of the day he's just an employee of Interscope Records. If he's dropped tomorrow he'll fade into obscurity faster then conservatives can spell the names of their home states. When I think of 'giants' in the political world I think of the bosses. The people who move things. Sean Hannity is a nobody. Rupert Murdoch is a God when it comes to right wing politics. So are the Moonies. The people who move the strings are the giants in my mind. Not the employees. Irregardless of how loud these employees are.

So wait, Hautey, are you saying the Moonies "move the strings" of the republican party?

This would indicate you do not listen to his show.

What are you babbling on about. The only thing obscure is liberal talk radio. The left doesn't have a single person like Limbaugh, that's what pisses you off.

Rush speaks the gospel of the conservative right. If every Republican felt free to express their true beliefs, they would all sound like Rush.

They'd all sound like self-centered, egotistical assholes? News for you, I'm a lifelong registered Republican and I sound nothing like Rush, nor do I agree with a lot of what he has to say.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Who said this? Please stop the strawmen and learn to read.

That's what pisses me off? German. Dude. My car's radio doesn't even get turned on. Is this even serious? The only people who claim that radio is even remotely relevant anymore are people who can't see that radio audiences have been declining for the last 30 years due to the effects of television internet and now mp3s and iPods.

FMC | Radio Study | Executive Summary

Radio reaches a large portion of adults on a weekly basis, but time spent listening is at a 27-year low. In September 2002, Duncan’s American Radio reported that the “average persons rating” – the percentage of the U.S. population listening to the radio in any average quarter hour – has experienced a near-17 percent drop in listening over the last 13 years.
As far as me caring about Limbaugh, the only thing that sort of gets me thinking about him is how the right screams about patriotism yet they can't help but rally behind a draft dodger. At the end of the day Rush Limbaugh is just an employee. Nothing more. Nothing less.
