The way I heard the story was :
Not too long ago, black guys from America were dying so that America could give the Vietnamese back their freedom and equality but yet those black guys from America had none of that freedom and equality back in America.
Niggaz sho musta loved that pho.
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK
People are not the same. We are all different. We should definitely have the same benefits, but right now, actually the blacks are the ones who are priviledged. I don't get my schooling paid for me. I'm EXPECTED to work for it and take out loans for it. In fact I work with MANY black people. There are MORE black people employed where I work than ANY OTHER race. So telling me that white people are more likely to be picked for a job is ridiculous. Now, it's all based on education. And to be fair, the blacks have more of an advantage here because they get their education for free. But, if they choose not to take up on that offer, you cannot blame the white man.
There are MANY successful black people. What you are doing, is disregarding them to prove a point, rather than celebrating the fact that they live in an age where they are able to excel.
I'm just wondering why the English black people aren't all up in arms and living in the past like a lot of the American black people are. From what I've heard, they were treated worse there. Did you know that they still celebrate their slaves Christmas?
And I dropped out of school after the 8th grade, and got a GED when I turned 16.
But "uneducated" is a mindset; I'm self-educated, and as best as I can tell, I've done as good a job educating myself as colleges and universities have done educating most of the people around me.
