    Re: Superman or Batman?

Batman is a far better hero.

How much courage does it take to face down a gun when the bullets bounce off? How much bravery does it take to face certain death when you can't die?

Batman has been stabbed, shot, and even had his back broken (by Bane) and he still maintains his strict code and mission against Gotham's criminals. It doesn't seem to take much effort or discipline to be Superman.

...oh, was this not a serious poll?

Of course not, but it can make an interesting debate...but you folks don't seem to bother to ...I guess people aren't as passionate as they were when they were kids about superheros

Some aren't. Some are. I love it still. In fact, I grew up to be what I was most addicted to in comics. And later this year, I get to see it on the silver screen. "G.I. Joe"

I think I was deprived as a kid.

I was never interested/introduced to comics

Well, I definately owe some of my personality to reading stories of good vs. evil and such. My favorites, which stood extremely far from the rest, was Batman and G.I. Joe. I also got into the The 'Nam. Later on I realized that my "super heroes" were always characters that could be real and relied upon human strength and intellect to win the day. I was never a Superman, Spiderman, Hulk, etc. kind of kid.

Is that the Marvel comics The 'Nam? I read it too and I still have an issue somewhere in storage. I was a big Michael Golden fan and tended to gravitate to anything he illustrated.

I'm not a big comic book follower, but I always liked the Hulk character. The thought of overwhelming masculine power being the solution appeals to me for some reason.

In this particular instance Batman is definitely my choice. Superman just isn't a challenge. Batman doesn't really have super powers at all, and yet he still manages to kick ass. Plus he has a far darker edge than Superman will ever have.

I never really collected comics like crazy, but a couple of my favorite comics to read were Spawn and The Maxx.
