 What a hypocrite! Every single time anyone disagrees with you aquapub and gets heated up, they are just crazy liberals who can't do nothing but rant and rave and have no comprehension of what you are talking about. Yet, when one of your own does it, it's all good.

:stop:

"One of your own"...are you serious? what is this some sort of battle with two sides? What are the two sides anyway?

I made a mistake. Period.

If an 'anti-aquapub' made a mistake and then immediately apologized, I don't see how aquapub could've bashed them.

Sorry, but I think your statement, americanwoman, was and is, purely emotional; think about it.

People should not be held in a situation where they are beyond the law.

Bush had this strange idea that because he was president that he could choose to ignore laws and traditions as he chose, because he had some sort of beyond the constitution presidential power.

He was just puppet for giant corporatons, and we can all see what things have evolved into:

world financial and political chaos.

Hooray for Bush/Cheney:roll:

There ARE no innocent terrorists captured on the battlefield killing our troops with al Qaida. Releasing even one is madness.

Not everyone in Gitmo was captured on a battlefield killing our troops. Stop playing the fool.

It's called being a loose constructionist.
In history, our greatest presidents starting from Washington were loose constructionists, shaping the American presidency the unwritten laws that eventually became written.

Something like the Barbary Coast War, in which Jefferson went into a war in a very similar way to how Bush did - in what some may call an unconstitutional fashion.

But Jefferson didn't get a bad rap (besides the fact that he wasn't misinformed from his intelligence) because he won.

He was just puppet for giant corporatons

Please explain how that applies to Gitmo

Nearly every single one, yes. And the few who weren't guilty (and some that were) were released, and one that turned out to be a Saudi radical virtually since birth, that had been caught fighting alongside al Qaida, but born on American soil right before his parents left the country, was transferred to a different system.

There is simply no controversy here. It's nothing more than smoke and mirrors by hysterical left-wing ideologues seeking to apologize for America's existence and beg Islam's forgiveness. Stop being a fool.

Again I ask, would you rather we just keep them all locked up? That way, innocent people get screwed but you sleep soundly at night?
They all claim to be innocent. Yet 61 of the 450 that were released went directly back to killing. So yes, keep them locked up until the war is over. If you truly cared for them, you would be championing a ramp-up to the WOT to win it ASAP, and to win it we need to keep killing anyone who so much as tosses a rock at our troops until there are no rock throwers left.

You cannot win a War on Terror. Terror is not an entity, it is a concept.

Sure we can, and how you describe it is moot.

Then you are more naive than I originally thought. Please, do enlighten me on how we can win a war against a faceless enemy that exists all over the world.

What a short sighted poll...

Yes close it tommorrow... now what are you going to do with those who are housed there.....

did you think this one through my friend.

Because the Executive Order definately says "Within one year.

NOT tomorrow, nor the next day. It may take 364 days, but the prison which is notorious around the world for TORTURE will eventually be closed. Obama is just polishing the tarnished medal that is the USA.

You can thank Bush for rolling it around in the dirt and stepping on it.

So what is your plan?
Where will you put all the detainees?

I would put them in a max security prison in the US, it is just as good as guantanamo bay, so why can't they be there until their trials are finished?

They arent worth being on American soil?

If thats what anyonne thinks, then they truly are idiots.

They want Islamic terrorists released.
What a load of BS! Who exactly "wants them released"? Show me one Democratic politician, one member of this community, one legitimate American public figure who "wants them released."

It's pathetic that you have to resort to utter fallacies when you post. The real sign of a losing debater is someone who never uses facts and only makes up BS.

Show us who specifically "wants them released"....bet you can't! Wanna bet?

Perhaps then you should tell us what we should do with them then.....

Which ones are they? Are they buddies with the ones that have already been released to kill again?
Care to document for us with verifiable facts "the ones that already been released to kill again"?

By this I mean prove to us exactly which of the released prisoners have gone back to the mythical battlefield, please?

Perhaps then you should tell us what we should do with them then.....

Persumably they want those who are innocent such as the Uigars who the Us gov't has admitted are so, realised and those who can be brought to trial they want tried. That would be the common sense answer.

Um...no.

The executive order was just signed today, and of the ones that were already released, dozens have already been recaptured fighting our troops with al Qaida.
Prove your claim please...and you're saying "dozens" out of 450? In other words less than 10% of those released you're now claiming are so pissed off at America for wrongfully imprisoning them that they turned against us? Shocking!

Do you always debate so weakly? :rofl

Are you actually saying that anyone that was sent to Gitmo should spend the rest of their lives there without a trial? Everyone?

So if we sent you there you'd be OK with never having the chance to defend yourself for the rest of your life? WOW! Welcome to hell Aquapub!

Hmmm...so ship all those from Guantanamo to a max security prison in the US....
brilliant (sorry, I can't help the sarcasm)

Do you realize how much $$$ and resources that requires? relocating America's greatest threats into a max prison that doesn't exist.

How long will it take to build this new max prison?
Where will it be?
Will it be within the year timetable given by Obama?
....so many unanswered questions

Very Tight Poll!

Perhaps then you should tell us what we should do with them then.....
It's purely political and foolish on the part of Dems to close the prison. It's on a legimate military installation. It's just that the Red Cross and the MSM so botched up the concept of Gitmo, and that Durbin and others compared our soldiers to Nazis and said other derogatory things, that now they want to close it as some gesture.

I am not for closing GITMO. However if we do I think Americas toughest sheriff, Joe Arpaio should take care of them. The treatment they would recieve is good enough for American inmates why not terrorist scumbags. At the Maricopa County Jail in Arizona inmates live in tents in the 118 deg heat . Are fed twice a day. They eat outdated green bologna sandwiches, and coolaid everyday. They wear pink jumpsuits and underwear. And they are forced to listen to patriotic music during the day.

The scum at GITMO would be beging to return to Cuba where they are treated much better.

But since liberals are always the ones rooting for terrorists and trying to release them, while never actually having to be the ones to pay the price for their treason and stupidity,

So you think that it was only christian conservatives who died or lost loved ones on 9/11? What an ignorant cold blooded statement.

If you will remember it was one of the rare times in politics where the country unified and supported the President even as he chose to go to war when the rest of the world was against us.

Then liberal and conservative alike found out they got hosed by an Administration that was operating on false information.

If the Gitmo detainee's are guilty then try and imprison them if not send them back to their homes.

9/11 did not happen because we had a lack of information. It happened because we ignored information that was coming in.
