There is nothing "American" about misrepresenting foreign terrorists captured on the battlefield killing our troops as American citizens arrested for breaking the law. That level of dishonesty and ignorance comes only from the constitutionally illiterate terror-apologists of the left. Foreign terrorists don't even have rights under our Constitution.

Imagine FDR demanding that all captured Nazi soldiers be proven guilty in an American criminal court or released. It's idiotic.

When detainees have been cleared, we have released them, and this has been going on since even before liberals began throwing this bogus little pity party for yet another U.S. enemy. We've also recaptured dozens of these needlessly released terrorists killing more of our troops since this lunacy began.

This is why liberals don't belong anywhere near positions of power. All they do is get more Americans killed while making sure we're popular among "allies" like France.

GITMO should be closed, the Military Commissions Act should be repealed and Habeas Corpus needs to be strengthened. What type of country do we live in when our government throws people in a foreign prison in secret, without charges, and tortures them? This state is not America; it’s more like Nazi-Germany or Stalin’s Russia. I hope ‘what do we do with the detainees is not the only reason holding us back from demanding justice.

One at war with militant Islam. And no, aggressive interrogations do not constitute torture. And no, denying foreign terrorists their non-existent criminal rights under our Constitution is in no way a travesty or a violation of the law.

    Get a clue.

Now that the Constitution-trampling tyrants of the left (see the "Fairness" Doctrine, "Card Check," silencing news stations that question you, etc.) have taken over, yes.

I liked how you tried to hide torture by added a pretty-label. Define aggressive interrogation. What is water-boarding?
How do you know there are terrorists without a trial?
What evidence do you have they are terrorists? If you have such evidence please provide the documentation for the forum to read.
You are making them guilty without proving they are guilty.
If you believe humans are granted rights from a Constitution then it is you that needs to get a clue. You need to research natural rights and how they influenced the founders of our US Constitution.

Yup, it’s only the so-called left that tramples our rights, the ‘right’ never does such things.

Those of us able to actually comprehend the laws we read don't see correctly distinguishing torture from aggressive interrogation as "pretty labeling." It's called literacy.

Nearly every single detainee was captured on the battlefield fighting with al Qaida to kill our troops-something I'm sure the partisan blogs spoon-feeding you these mass-produced partisan talking points failed to mention, I'm sure.

And FDR made captured German POWs "guilty" without proving they were guilty. We're at war here, Sparky. Try to keep up.

This is Ray Charles lecturing Robin Hood on aim. The Constitution doesn't grant anyone anything. It is an enumeration of federal powers. The Bill of Rights is an official guarantee that the rights (given to us not by the Constitution, but by God, according to these Founders you have the audacity to try to cite) we already have would be honored by the federal government. A promise broken non-stop by liberals on every front for the last half-century at least.

And no, foreign terrorists are in no way offered any protections or rights under our Constitution at all. So yes, get a clue.

Maybe you have paid an iota or two of attention to history.

Gitmo is a US military base that has been there for over 100 years. It is a legitimate military installation own by the Navy. What difference does it make whether it is inside the 48 states?

When you say Gitmo, remember that we're not closing a base, only a prison on the base.

Unless you have another facility to place these wackos in, other than in the US...then don't close it down....

They don't have another place and they don't want one. That's the point. They want Islamic terrorists released. Islam (the aggressor) is a victim. America (the victim) is the aggressor. If we'd just try being nice to these justifiably angry Muslims, they would stop killing us.

Welcome to the simple-minded liberal fantasy land logic that brought us 9/11 and is now guiding all our federal policy.

Apparently all the same rules of U.S. criminal justice are not applicable there.
