I would make it a requirement to eat raw beef in order to get a check from the government. 1/2 pound, whatever cut you want, for each check.

This would drastically reduce the number of people willing to make a career out of government service, and would ensure that most who ARE willing to do so are RealMen (tm)

I'd be livin' high on the giovrnment hog if that were the case. Only a 1/2 pound?

I got a rare 64 oz porterhouse from Gibson's here in Chicago once and that sumbitch was pretty much raw. I LOVED it. Would I get 8 checks for that or just 6 because it was "introduced" to the grill?

Some of those ideas/choices...are completely impossible and unworkable...
When man learns to behave and act in a civilized manner, then the taxes can be lowered.

My idea is probably no better , but here goes...
If I were President, I'd request that Congress commence with an Congressional level investigation as to what went wrong with the mortgage companies and financial institutions..
The CEOs, CFOs, and high level executives must all appear in front of Congress (the Representatives of the American people) and explain what happened.
Not one penny until the truth is known..
Some heads may have to roll.
This includes top people in the Federal Government..

Foreign aid, in addition to wasting money, is meddling into the affairs of other countries. It does NOT buy their friendship; it does NOT solve problems; it just makes other parts of the world hate us. Switzerland gives no foreign aid; nobody dislikes Switzerland.

Basically, writing checks is not the best way; eliminating government meddling is the best (excessive taxes, regulations, mandates, etc.). However, writing the checks is BETTER than than your other (socialist) proposals.
