Which is why the mininum age for President is 35, not 5 or 10 years of age.

I guess its okay for the country to make money off of suckers. Seems wrong, though, somehow.

If you check on the odds of winning the Florida lottery, it's about 14,000,000 to 1. That's a true loser's game, right there. I imagine the numbers would be even worse for a national lottery. The good thing is that would be a tax I wouldn't ever pay.

    It's voluntary.

I meant that it's taking advantage of people (weak suckers). That may be legal in this case, and therefore not wrong, but it sure isn't anything to be proud of.

I'm with Kandahar. Raise the gas tax.

Our entire tax code takes advantage of suckers. So do insurance companies. Many lenders do.

Yeah, the trick is not to be a sucker. Never buy whole-life insurance, only sign simple interest loans, and take every possible tax deduction you can. Those are just a few rules to live by, there are many others.

Edit-Also, never play the lottery. You will not win.

What kind of public works? Do any of them involve eminent domain? If you spent years building a fine home, would you let it be destroyed and accept a token sum of less than half its replacement value?

Nothing. Welfare is NOT a legitimate government function.

And one more thing: Learn the concept of "promote tjhe general welfare." It is NOT government handouts. It is the protection of people's natural rights to do things for themselves.

I would recycle this memorial to America's second greatest traitor (after FDR) and replace it with a memorial to America's greatest recent patriot -- Ron Paul.
