The pilots believe that the "occupation is corrupting all of Israeli society" and "is fatally harming its moral strength." Clearly, the pilots do not believe that the state is the author of morality. How could the occupation be fatally harming the state's moral strength if the state is the author of morality?

Having served in the IDF for decades, it is "an inalienable part of themselves" and they do not want to abandon the IDF. What they want is for the IDF to re-claim the moral high ground, which it abandoned.

Wrong. The order is already illegal in the soldier's eyes, so why would he commit to those orders?

It is just like the General of the Army (US) ordering a Private to put a bullet through the Commander-in-Chief (President)'s head.

Also, according to the International Military Tribunal, soldiers have an obligation to disobey orders that violate nation and international laws.

There is no "legal" way of doing it. If you have a hard time grasping this basic concept of right and wrong, I suggest reading Letters from a Birmingham Jail.
