Are Americans "allergic" to realities about America which are negative?

Are Americans "allergic" and get "seizures" if someone mentions a reality about America which isnt positive?

Interesting question, because many Americans use the "victim" card every time someone says someone about America which isn't positive, and always brand it "anti-American", justifiably or unjustifiably. The question really is, do Americans call the "anti-American" "victim" card to easily?

Most of us acknowledge that America, like all other countries, is not perfect. You'll notice that there are plenty of Americans, Europeans, and others who criticize the US from time to time, but don't get the "victim card." You get that reaction because you purposely SEEK that reaction.

Just answer the question in the poll please. I am not referring to myself, but generally.

"so many Americans...." is a misstatement. Some of America's worst critics come from within.

Many American's are critical of the US when it does something wrong. This is shown several ways. Protests is one. Another is through the general approval polls that are held about the US President. If what you said is actually true then I doubt that Bush would have gotten the all time lowest approval rating in American History. At least I think that no other president has had that low of a rating. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I meant in the sense that you feel many Americans are never critical of their country. There is often criticism of government, we don't sit around talking about how good we are. People complain, always.

No. We're allergic to senseless drivel repeatedly constantly by certain posters on this board who are only seeking negative attention for their blathering.

I think Americans still operate very much under a sort of "I can insult them, but you can't" mentality. That is to say, we're very defensive against outsiders criticizing our society and our attitude especially when it comes from maybe very socialistic/fascist states. Americans themselves very much criticize our government and its activities, publicly and loudly. It's our government and we'll treat it the way we want and we'll complain when it needs to be complained about and we'll work in ways to fix problems (mostly) when they need to be fixed. But you'll find more resistance to criticism if the source of that criticism is a non-American source.

I guess you are referring to Americans on this forum who make themselves look like morons by constantly trolling posts rather than debate reality? Especially the people who blindly troll anyone who is not saying exclusively positive things about the US.
