I want to drive to DC and see Obama sworn into office.

Is this even realistic? I hear all this crap about tickets given to lucky lottery winners and stuff. When the hell did people start needing tickets?

If I drive there, will I be able to see him sworn in? Or is that an unrealistic goal for some random person from Florida with no tickets/connections.
One can drive to DC (but parking will be a nightmare). Tickets will be required but only for one to stand on the lawn of the Capitol's West Side. One does not need tickets to stand off the Capitol's lawn. The Mall will probably be packed. One also does not need tickets to view the Inaugural parade.

Find something bigger than a fast food place, where it could be left overnight, as it might get towed; you might want to sneak into a hoopla thingy after. What the hell, you are young.

    Have fun, and drive carefully.

Why any man would want to spend so much time and money just to see another man is beyond me..
    Sheeple are strange..
And I do not think it can be successfully done, unless a man has more dollars than cents.
If one must, why not watch it one TV ?
I'd much rather watch real people competing on TV.. or watch PCN at the farm show...

We drove hundreds of miles to see a Saturn V rocket take off. I brought home a turtle for my sandbox. Now I still go outside to see rockets take off, but I do not touch the turtles. From their perspective this is much bigger than a rocket taking off bound for the moon.

This is like jumping in a time machine to go see George Washington, except this time we do not know how it will turn out. If Obama turns out to be ok, it is like missing the Sermon on the Mount because there were some gladiatorial games that day. If Obama turns out worse than Bush, they will blame Republicans or Bush, but feel cheated unless they got laid at the party. If he goes down like JFK, they will blame it on the Republicans and Bush and find financial ties to the mint who made the JFK Obamanation coins; think Jeffrey Hunter and playing the messiah curse.

If I watched this on TV I would puke at all the FDR, JFK Camealot, Jimmy Cotter puke second coming references before the boy has shot his wad in the White House. If we do not want this country going to hell we better hope he is a good president, or as good as FDR, a better finisher than JFK, and 100 percent better than Jimmy Cotter puke or Bush.

You know, it is history, if Obama fails to get us out of this mess, his former minister will only remember him as being half white.

Obama historically sits as a first, possibly a George Washington in scale, definitely with a job harder than any president has ever has faced in American History.

Washington, Lincoln, and FDR had it easy compared to what Obama faces on day one, with regard to who has his back. As a Chicken Hawk Obama will be a smirking chimp on his first order to our military not to stand down, just ask any “liberal.“ And anyone who says otherwise is a traitor.

I wouldn't pay to go see it because the location may change. I think I've heard him say he was all about change a couple times.
