    Congrats on quitting smoking.

I have promised myself that I am going to attempt and complete a marathon(in the first attempt) before I am 30(5 years).. I still have some way to go.. I frequently run 5kms but have a probably max capacity atm at around 10km. I am quite big, 183cm and 83kg, which will make it even harder for me(marathon)..
That is the great thing about running. Everyone can set their own goals. I know I will never be an elite marathoner, however, getting under three hours is what makes me happy. Frankly, I am a much better 10K runner, but I enjoy the marathons more. I am better built for longer races being only 175cm and 65kg. Still, you can do it. Giving up the cancer stick is the best first step.

Nothing like the feeling after great a workout is there? Capoeira is my favorite.
I love getting out on the open streets for a 100km bike ride or a two hour swim in the pool. And the sleeping is great afterward too. Exercise actually helps people to get the good sleep that they need.

There is a difference. Those drugs are toxins to the body. Sky diving (while dangerous), vacationing, watching a movie, etc. does not involve the deliberate introduction of toxins into the body.

You mean wanting to be healthy and prepare yourself for competitive marathons and triathlons is NOT a valid reason?

Scourge and Ego may fit into the shortness of intellect/low self esteem category.. ..one or both.......

A man should see things as they are, without the "coloration due to drugs".

The same is true of Heroin.

All varients are probably a bad idea, though.
Another perspective on it, though, is that snorting anything is incredibly harmful and damaging to one's nose and sinuses, and- depending on the purity of the drug- can eat a hole in one's septum or literally rot one's nose off one's face pretty damned quick.
If one is scrupulous about using clean, sharp points, injection can arguably be less detrimental to the body than snorting, as far as permanent damage goes.
And certainly smoking is physiologically less damaging than snorting. Inarguably.
Snorting is a really bad way to ingest narcotics, and I've always been protective of my pretty face. I didn't want to hurt my nose. Didn't care as much about my arms, obviously.

Anyway, I don't regret anything, but i'm glad it's all behind me now.
I know I'll never do any kind of drugs again, but I'm not sorry I did it, if that makes any sense.

And these toxins are guaranteed to do what? You going to argue that a single hamburger is going to clog my arteries and give me a heart attack too? You are exaggerating the toxicity and risk of some substances don't you think?

And why is that? Please give me the full chain of reasoning for such a profound conclusion that is obviously so self-evident to you that it requires no elaboration.

Opinion noted. Perhaps you should abandon ill supported paranoia, fear, and pride and dare to see things from a different perspective.

    Your point is?

Are you denying that these drugs are toxic? I don't understand why people injest such toxins deliberatly into the body having no other useful purpose.

Before you bring up that hamburger reference again, a single hamburger is NOt toxic and on the RARE times I DO eat hamburgers, I use very low-fat beef.

My point is that some drugs aren't going to have much if any effect in the long or short term as long as they are used in moderation.

We ingest lots of "toxins" everyday. The preservatives in your food, the dirt, smoke, and fumes in the air, the cleaning chemicals all over our cities. As long as you do not excessively expose yourself there is little to worry about. I'm not so paranoid as to think a little bit of extra "toxin" in my day is going to be crippling or even make a blip on the radar of my body. Its not like its anywhere close to inhaling chlorine gas or drinking bleach. Like I said, you seem to be exaggerating the fear and risks associated with moderate or light drug use.

    Yet a single joint is?

That is great. I hope that works for you. As for me I come from a long line of long lived ancestors. We average to live into our 90's assuming we don't drink or eat ourselves to death. Good genes go a long way but anyone can destroy themselves if they overindulge in anything. Moderation is key.
