Do you like non US/British movies?

Just curious.. Can you watch movies with subtitles in foreign languages or is this "horrible". Do you like any foreign movies? Have you seen any foreign movies?

Just kind of a follow up to this thread.

    Does anime count?
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I don't mind subtitles and I often put up spanish or french ones when I'm watching an english movie. I've seen a lot of foreign films, chiefly spanish or argentino, but for the most part they were just too weird for me to enjoy them. or waaaay too depressing and dark.

    examples:
"amantes del circulo polar/lovers of the arctic circle"--WTF? like half of that movie was unfathomable nonsense.
"mar adentro/sea inside," really not my style. very fatalistic and unpleasant.
"garage olimpo," ouch. "la historia oficial," same.
    "frida," yikes.
    etc.

as far as non-hispanic foreign films my experience is very limited, I saw "amelie" (lame) and "life is beautiful" (depressing) and that's about it.

There are some foreign movies that I like. City of God (Brazilian), Amelie (French), Pan's Labyrinth (Mexican), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (Indian), Run Lola Run (German), Seven Samurai (Japanese), and the Seventh Seal (Swedish)...all really good.

Pan's Labyrinth (Mexican) - No explanation needed.

Warriors (Spanish) - It is about Spanish soldiers stationed in Kosova; a gritty story of soldiers' first encounter with combat and the fog of war.

Stalingrad (German) - It is about some German soldiers who desert during the seige of Stalingrad; not as good as Warriors, but still interesting.

Attack the Gas Station (Korean) - It is about a gang taking over a gas station; the hostages form a unique and interesting cross-section of Korean society.

The Host (Korean) - It is about a monster attack and the family who attempts to rescue their daughter; the only monster movie I've ever seen that had me cheering for the people.

Sex and Lucia (Spanish) - It is a soft porn movie with a plot, and a very confusing non-linear plot with surreal elements at that; I'm not into dirty movies, but this one was worth watching twice just to figure out the plot.

I haven't liked many that I've seen, unless they involved gigantic mutants, usually the result of U.S nuclear testing stomping Tokyo flat, and actors whose lips do not move in sync with their words.

I like the movie I have running in my head called Steel Toe Boot Party. It stars Maximus Zeebra and about 8 other dudes.
And why does your tone suggest that you do not care about children?
