Property is an inherent right though; pursuit of life, liberty, and property. It's from Locke, and Locke influenced many of the founders. The Constitution doesn't grant rights, it merely lists a few of them. The full of our rights aren't included in it. Anything not specifically granted to the Federal government is reserved by the People and the many States.

Which means that they can legally be infringed.
 
After purchase tracking & audits

I feel that a good way would be after a gun purchase the gun should have a tracking record for example as soon as the gun is stolen or discovered missing it should be filed. Selling to friends should be filed for tracking. Giving as a gift should be filed for tracking, etc...

To have the right to be a gun owner then should allow the gov. to do random audits to see if you are still in possesion of all your guns with possible penalties for not helping keep track of them?

Maybe this could be a start to keep guns off the streets?

How does this prevent crime? It only places a burden on law abiding gun owners, and thus violates their rights.

Absolutely and completely wrong.

The ninth limits the federal govenrnment, but not the states.

The tenth ammendment clarifies this:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

I'm an anti-federalist,I should clarify that I would ba calling for my argument as a state by state regulation, not a blanket federal regulation.

I don't think the that the federal governmet has the authority to regulate the sales of guns, but each state has the right to do so.
