What are we going to do when Bush isn't in office?

The Daily Show and Colbert Report will go under.

The Onion will have massive lay offs.

Keith Olberman will have a deep existential crisis.

Legions of political satirists, cartoonists and parodists of all type and manner will be forced into the streets.

Imagine, John Stewart wearing a filthy ratty coat, begging on the streets of Manhattan.

His tragic little sign, hand written on a piece of old cardboard from a case of generic vodka, "will make fun of Bush for food"

The entire cast of Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! will be reduced to doing morning zoo shows and BUYTHISCARNOW! ads.

The comedic left owes Bush so much.

I think your underestimating what Obama is going to bring us.

I'd rather it have been a knife.

As much as I think that Bush is a dolt, hasn't he just become the poster boy of American government and corporate corruption?

I blame the establishment, and while Bush IS that poster boy, I don't think that he should die, at least not any more than hundreds, if not thousands of other government and corporate big wigs.

Wow, it's like he was imitating Jon Stewart imitating George Bush.

And to answer the question, yes, he absolutely deserves to have shoes thrown at him everywhere he goes. If there was any justice in the world, he would be be bitten by children and peed on by dogs for the rest of his life. He needn't be punished with a Michael Bay kind of vengeance, but rather just a...sad...existence.

Moron
Whatever happend to eggs and tomatoes? Don't people chuck those anymore??

He dodged the shoes and was actually chuckling - say what you will about this sob, he's got a sense of humor though.

They are just taking a lead from Korean and Taiwanese legislators.

At least he didn't chuck a biandang at the President.

He deserves much more than a shoe being thrown at him... like an impeachment, treason charges and a good beatch slap across his face. Now he has even more in common with the tyrant he tried to use to bolster his political reputation... being slapped with dirty. stinking shoes! The ultimate sign of disrespect for Iraqis!

YouTube - A Symbolic Moment

Yeah, Bush moves pretty fast when he's saving his own ars but, when it comes to bringing our troops home he moves like molasses going uphill in January. In other words, he doesn't care one iota what pain and suffering he's caused American families! And Cheney cares even less!!!

That Iraqi was a pretty good shot. Maybe he should have used a claymore!

They will have Joe "gaffe a minute" Biden to pick on, Hillary as Sec of State, Pelosi and Reid... Believe me, the comedians will have plenty of material the next four years.

Unless Palin wins. :2razz:

Seriously though -- I think Bush deserved more than a shoe tossed at him, but that's just me.

Why are liberal extermists so angry and hateful? It's a genuine question...what fuels this classless demeanor?

Now, you may be able to say you were born "at" night but, you can't say "last" night.

Sending over 4,200 Americans to their deaths in a war he wanted just to inflate his ego kinda does it for me.

Oh, you don't know? There are several hundred topics about it on this forum alone.

Don't try to bait me.

That's like me asking "why are you (or conservatives, or reps, or whatever) so ignorant and blind? It's a genuine question... what fuels this brainless activity and disregard for common sense and accountability?"

Go away.

Case in point...extermist anger is just strong with you.

How so? I asked a general question about the extremists from your side, and based that off the anger I see here in this thread. You proceeded to be angry and hateful and when I pointed that out, you call me ignorant?

You have issues. Big issues. In fact, I'd say you are part of the problem in your ideology. But then, I already knew that by how rabid and hysterical you get whenever confronted in even the most genuine of ways.

When Bush is out of office, I'd like to see him and Dick Cheney indicted. I believe they committed fraud on congress and the American people, and I believe he deliberately duped congress to allow an illegal invasion of Iraq. I was certain they'd both be impeached years ago. Instead, they were reelected. I could not believe it.

That said, if the president of another country... even an unpopular president... was in the USA under our protection, and was attacked in that manner by an American reporter, our country would be ashamed and embarrassed. Secret service heads would roll.

I don't like seeing a sitting president, whether I like him or not, attacked. I may not respect Bush, but I respect the office of the president. And like others here, I wonder how security didn't notice a reporter taking his shoes off in the middle of a press conference, then standing like statutes as the guy got two solid throws it. I'm just glad there wasn't a bomb in those shoes. As much as I'd like to throttle Bush personally, I do not want to see an American president assassinated ever again. Once was quite enough, so I find it difficult to be blaise or amused by stuff like this.

Yeah, wtf was up with that?

How did he have time to take them both off and throw them without someone laying him out?

I might be wrong, but what from I saw of the video, his bodyguards ran in from another room just as he'd ducked the second shoe. Why weren't they right there wth him, knowing that he was giving a speech in place with a lot of hostile feeling towards the US?

Keep you feigned outrage of the shoe incident to yourself. You lost your credibility when you first opened your mouth. You go blind when Pelosi sells the American people this lame $700B bailout.

Alright....so I can believe that Jallman and I agree on stuff. I can even believe that ludahai, SgtRock and I agree on stuff. But American? Alright time to become a Christian again.

Thanks, but I think I'll continue to exercise one of the few rights left after the Bush administration... the right to issue an opinion, whether you happen to like it or not.

I've never said a word on this forum about Pelosi... she's useless... nor have I mentioned the bailout, so you're simply making stuff up at this point.

Have a nice day.

Maybe they where told "We want it to look like everything is really peacefull so go hide offstage while we shake hands"

We keep forgetting what terrible president that he is. He invaded Iraq for no reason and many thousands of Iraqi citizens have died for no reason.

I am glad they were shoes instead of Bullets. I don't want Bush assassinated, only sent to prison.

Good point. But in my op he doesn't even need to go to prison if he just joined the people and turned on the puppeteers. And maybe asked man for forgivness.

What rights have you lost under President Bush?

He doesn't deserve to have a shoe thrown at him. He deserves to have a pair of boots thrown at him!
