I don't think Bush deserved that. I feel bad too because everytime I see the clip, I find myself laughing.
What are we going to do when Bush isn't in office?
The Daily Show and Colbert Report will go under.
The Onion will have massive lay offs.
Keith Olberman will have a deep existential crisis.
Legions of political satirists, cartoonists and parodists of all type and manner will be forced into the streets.
Imagine, John Stewart wearing a filthy ratty coat, begging on the streets of Manhattan.
His tragic little sign, hand written on a piece of old cardboard from a case of generic vodka, "will make fun of Bush for food"
The entire cast of Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! will be reduced to doing morning zoo shows and BUYTHISCARNOW! ads.
The comedic left owes Bush so much.
And why does your tone suggest that you do not care about children?
I've not problem whatsoever with this. It's hardly the most nuanced form of political protest, but if a foreign agressor bombed and invaded the US, killing your friends and loved ones, and one of your own responded by chucking a shoe, I suspect you'd find it hard to muster any outrage.
"I'll govern for all the ambitions of Scotland, and for all of the people who imagine that we can live in a better land. This party, the Scottish party, your party, carries your hope, and we shall carry it carefully, and make the nation proud."
Alex Salmond, First Minister of Scotland, Scottish National Party
Yes. Were you unaware that children generally behave in an emotive and irrational manner? How children behave?
He did not send them off to die. He sent them off to win a war. Sometimes people die in wars. This is not new. I also find your "concern" for the troops to be nothing more than a symptom of your political agenda. You do not speak for them, nor do you speak for their families, so any sorrow you may feel for them is probably misplaced. If I had died in Iraq the last thing my family or I would want is for someone like you using my death as an excuse to attack the President.Kinda reminds me of a little boy that sent thousands of our troops off to die just to settle a score for his Daddy. Ummmm.. Who does that bring to mind? Good Point!
