Re: Do you regularly work out?

I do work out several times a week and not nearly as much as I used to or would like to. Having a newborn does that, but on the flip side picking her up, carrying around her carseat, and just running around and playing with her makes up for alot of the working out I am missing. My arms are getting a bad ass tone to them. Also, I just generally do what I can when she goes to sleep at night and I'm not dead tired and I always do my stretches and light aerobics every morning.

I love to roller skate. In the winter I just go to a skating rink when I can and in the summer just go wherever.

Re: Do you regularly work out?

I vary my work-out routines a lot, so much so that it couldn't really be called a "routine". I hate, HATE HATE working out, so I have to change things up or I just flat out won't do it. I enjoy doing sports that give me a workout as opposed to just working out. Because, as I mentioned, I HATE working out.

Most of the summer I boogie-boarded just about every day, walked my dog for about 20-30 min fast walk, worked out on the bowflex 3x a week. Then it got too cold to enjoy boogie boarding, so I started scuba diving instead. Doing Tae Bo, and still walking and using the bowflex.

I do bellydancing and hula when the mood strikes me too.

Now that I'm back in WV and outdoor stuff is not very easy to do this time of year, and my bowflex is in storage, I'll probably start going to the YMCA and swimming laps along with doing the tae bo and dancing.

Before too much longer, I expect to be scuba diving most every day which should take care of the rest of the weight I want to lose and the muscle tone I want to get back.

I had a girlfriend who did tango, that was hot, but she turned out to be a bitch.

I do capoeira, but its not really a dance.

I was thinking about ballet primarily, would that be a wise choice? I have problems with fast(small) rhythmic movement, left/right coordination between legs and arms mostly.

But ballet is suppose to be fantastic for flexibility also and flexibility strength(called agility?), like for example holding ones foot far in the air for a long time, that type of concentration and stamina..?

Pinto beans are my favorite. You can do so much with them and they taste amazing.

Ballet will certainly help with these and... allow you to do them gracefully

Lol. I can easily put the high-heel of a Tango shoe on the tip of your nose without bending my torso at all.

I am not exactly a graceful dancer, rather a bit clumsy, even sloppy sometimes in my moves.

But ballet for a man, wouldn't that be kind of strange?

Wow, thats just a damn fine thing.

When I get to hip level with my feet either way my torso automatically starts bending and there is nothing I can do(yet).

On the other hand I can do some pretty feisty moving around.

If there is ever one area of physical fitness I need drastic improvement on, its flexibility. Its getting bad enough, that I may have to consider yoga of some type to avoid some kind of surgery a few years down the road. When I cut my toenails, I consider that to be a stretching excercise. Thats about the level I am at, for flexibility.

Try capoeira. Its very good for balance, flexibility and strength, aside from it being a very nice and peaceful form of martial arts. Yoga is just boring. Sorry.
