Unless he shot you first. Raising the stakes of fights so easily to life and death is dangerous to all law-abiding citizens. Guns allow that to happen.

It wouldn't really be for me to worry about if I'm dead. But if neither of us have guns, I can promise you that I'd be able to put up one hell of a fight. If he has a gun, I no longer have that ability. Whether I own one also or not.

No, I sleep PEACEFULLY at night BECAUSE of the very large amount of money I pay in taxes to hire a police force and a military to protect me.

I guess in your experience a rape could happen in under 8 minutes. That would be the time it takes the police to arrive in my town. I pay very good money for that kind of service.

If I can't hold off a man trying to rape my daughter without a gun for 8 minutes, then I'm not worthy of being her father. Maybe that would encourage everybody to go to the gym as well. Then we're saving lives on two fronts, getting rid of gun deaths and battling obesity.

How does the argument that the 2nd covers any firearm you care to mention extend then to anthraxx and smallpox?

The comparison can only exist between weapons that were designed to kill human beings. And none of them should be legal.

Given that the 2nd exits because people sometimes need to kill other people, what argument is there that the 2nd doesnt protect firearms (supposedly) built for that purpose?
