What is the "problem" ? Did the weapon jam ? Was the round a dud ?
I think you need to be more specific about this alleged "problem".
The true main problem with firearms is that there aren't enough, many have been forbidden to us, and more and more the government tries to encroach on our right to keep and bear arms. There should never have been an "assault rifle" ban (especially because it didn't ban a gun and people in Congress didn't know what they were voting on), fully automatic weapons should not be illegal, etc.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it an "assault weapons" ban not an assault rifle ban? Not as a point of argument but as a point of clarity...
Yoy would be surprised to know how many people blame the weapon and not the man pulling the trigger..
That's why there should be a major study conducted on the effects of video games on the youngest generation to determine if there is a cause and effect on young people committing random acts of violence.
The 8 year old who killed his dad and the dad's friend seemed well adjusted to killing. Not just shooting, as his dad may have taught him, but killing.
That may have come from an over exposure to violent games. Just as not everyone who drinks is an alcoholic, not every kid who plays "Grand Theft Auto" is going to go on a shooting rampage.
But some may.
We need to KNOW THE TRUTH about the effects of video games and acts of violence in this country.
Yes, I believe it is the intent to kill that is the problem. Should we ban everything that a person can kill another person with? If that's the case, everyone will have to have their hands chopped off.
Step right up...the line forms to the left.
Is it the weapon or the person pulling the trigger?
My hand's primary purpose and reason for creation was not to kill people. Assault rifles firing armor-piercing bullets were created specifically for that purpose, and should be illegal.

nah dood. killing should be illegal......

Then why don't I have the right to manufacture anthrax? That could certainly be defined as a weapon. I believe that it has been in plenty of military literature. Unless you think we should be able to buy smallpox at Wal-Mart too?

extremist logic....... oooooh fun...
why can we manufacture cars or doctors or hell buckets.... they are so much more deadly.......
I own a bunch of semi auto military styled rifles-I have shot thousands of rounds out of them-never killed anyone.
Yes, your logic carried to its logical extreme. Once again, since you apparently failed to read my prior post, a car is not manufactured to kill people. Certain guns and ammunition are designed exactly for that purpose. The comparison can only exist between weapons that were designed to kill human beings. And none of them should be legal.
Jeez... you need to aim better!
When some barbarian breaks into your house with his blood engorged member to rape your daughter you will learn that some people need to be killed. :2wave:
