Are the anti-2nd amendment people lying when they say that there is nothing to worry about the democrats in control in regard to 2nd amendment rights?


I have come to the conclusion that a lot of the anti-2nd amendment people are lying when they say the democrats are not going to infringe our 2nd amendment rights and or take away our 2nd amendment rights. There is very strong evidence that suggest that pro-2nd amendment crowd has a alot to worry from a democrat president and a democrat controlled congress and senate. It was democrats that enacted the Brady bill,( and I sure a few RINOs supported it too)it was democrats that fought to not let the ban expire, Obama and Biden are supported by the Brady campain the most anti-2nd amendment group out there, and the most liberal states in the country have the most anti-2nd amendment laws out there

Which is why smart gun owners are stocking up on regular capacity magazines and imported ammo. Bamba can ban the eastern bloc imported ammo by executive order. If you enjoy shooting stuff like AK styled rifles almost all the available ammo is EB. I am unaware of american made 5.45X39 and the Federal 7.62x39 is twice as expensive as the good non-corrosive wolf or "brown bear" or romanian hotshot ammo..

I can tell you this, when obama was elected I renewed my NRA membership. now more than ever I want them to have my $35.

I honestly don't know, because as a group I think it boils down to the agenda drivers at the top of the pyramid, who I truly believe are not honest in their true reasoning behind gun control and outright bans, then there are the true believers who for whatever reasons buy the junk spewed from the top. The reason I don't know whether they are lying or not is because it is getting difficult to tell what percentage of the masses against the second are true believers versus those with an agenda, however truthful the anti-2nd side is, the danger is absolute.

WHO are these people? Are they govt officials or street people that don't like guns? That would really affect how I vote on the poll.

It does seem like the Gun Lobby has more than its share of rednecks. But, frankly, I disagree that the prospect of tyranny is so far out there. I think we're still the same humans we were 100 years ago, and we're some of the laziest citizens in the world. Lazy in the sense that we don't engage with our duties as residents of a free country.

I think some day I will be thankful for those rednecks.

My guess is that gun control is not going to be a priority issue, unless there is an outbreak of gun related violence that makes it one.

I think it more likely that the tyrrany comes from someone those rednecks put in control of the government. But who knows.

Not juet yes, but hell yes.

There's nothing to stop the anti-gun loons for enacting whatever legislation they want, save for there being more pressing matters (raising taxes, increasing spending, retreating from Iraq) and the possibility that some of them remember what happened in 1994.

The Obama will sign any gun control that hits his desk -- the question isn't if, but when, and what.

Your argument is self conflicting - let me point out why.
Tyranny is not so far out there, but we're some of the laziest citizens in the world in that we don't engage with our duties.
If indeed that were true, then we should already be in a nation of tyranny.
Let's be honest here, that anyone could ever expect that this nation would ever be overthrown by militias is utterly ridiculous and non-sense.
No militia of the US would ever be able to win against the US military force. It's simply impossible.
So the prospect that people are buying assault rifles so that they would some day be able to over throw the government is simply nuts.
Now I can respect that while some people collect stamps, others collect cars and some guns. Great, that's fine.
But in terms of using an assault rifle for defense against the government is absurd. In terms of purchasing assault rifles to feel safe at home represents either a) a complete break down of social order and you probably ought to move out or b) you're utterly delusional/paranoid and have no business owning such a lethal weapon.

I'd much rather have any gun control legislation made when there is no sudden outbreak than when there is and we get sloppy worthless lip-service legislation.
Same goes for any legislation.

Statists like JFUH think that in the case of tyranny, the only way to oppose a fascist government is a full scale battle. That is stupid. The way you oppose tyranny is not hiding behind a building bouncing bullets of a main battle tank. What you do is to kill the people who run the fascist government. No matter how well protected, a politician who starts such nonsense is going to die rather quickly if a few million armed citizens are trying to kill him. Shooting those citizens who aid and abet the fascism would be useful as well.

Chicago is one of the strictest gun control cities in the world... and they also own the violent crime number 1 position.

For a while there, DC was the murder capital of the world... With some of the strictest gun control laws in the country.

Does it make sense? Does it seriously make sense to you, to think that, because our congressmen pass laws that make it illegal to own a weapon.. that people will magically not be able to get their hands on them?

Do you honestly think that the average criminal is going to think to themselves.. "Damn! They banned guns, I guess I can't use mine anymore."?

Do you honestly think that is what will happen?

I don't know where you are from, but my country is a democratic republic - we believe in peaceful means of transitions - not force. I'm sure maybe where you are from they may have a common practice of shooting whomever disagrees with you and the biggest gun always wins. The USA is not such a primitive nation. So thanks but no thanks to your suggestions.
