Re: Obama Supporters

I left the Repubs when Bush beat McCain, so this is a tougher question. And it isn't reality, therefore I can only "guess" at what I'd do. If it was Hillary vs. John, I'd probably not vote. Not even for John simply because he is too damned old, and his VP is an airhead. Even without Palin or age (just assuming those issues could be different which they can't), I wouldn't vote Repub this time. They've just screwed too much up. I would only vote Dem if the candidate was reasonable to me (ie not Hillary for many reasons); I find many faults with Obama, but I do find him reasonable and he seems to have at least thought things through, even if I don't agree with many of his conclusions/stances/planks.

Re: Obama Supporters

I would rather have Obama then McCain whatever iteration. IMO McCain was/is/and always will be more of the Bush/republican agenda and ideology that has taken us from greatest nation in the world to what we are now.

Re: Obama Supporters

McCain 2000 isnt all that different from 2008 - he stood more firm and had his maverick moments, but the vast majority of his policies were the same.

McCain 2000 sold out his family. Why should I trust him with a country?

Re: Obama Supporters

Even in 2000 I would've still had Obama, for one in hindsight, it's most deffinitive that Obama would not have started Iraq and McCain most likly would've.
Now, between McCain and Bush? Hands down McCain.
Between McCain and Gore - ooooo, tough one.
McCain and Kerry? McCain no question.

I don't know about that. I think Bush was looking for an excuse to go into Iraq from the beginning. I don't think McCain would've had that same prediliction. He's a lot smarter than Bush on military affairs and I think he would've finished Afghanistan before he got us into another war, if he got us into another one at all. Of course, that presupposes that McCain's reaction to 9/11 would've been the same as Bush's. I don't think that's the case. I think it's entirely possible his reaction could've been overblown or it's also possible that it could've been more understated.

It's hard to tell what McCain's reaction to anything will be... that's part of the reason why I find him so scary.

While I certainly prefer McCain 2000 to McCain 2008, I don't think I'd choose McCain 2000 over Obama. I like Obama for his temperament and his judgement primarily. He's cool unde pressure, he's thoughtful in his reactions, I don't find him to be stubborn, and I don't feel like he hates me or thinks I'm stupid because I disagree with him on economic policies.

So, no, I'd still be voting for Obama.

Re: Obama Supporters

I am much more against McCain than i am Bush.

Bush has a terrible Foriegn Policy but its just because he is a moron puppet man that is controlled by other morons.

McCain has a terrible Foreign Policy and is not a moron.
And that is much, much more scary.
It is people like McCCain that start serious wars.

I was equally against him in 2000 and was very relieved when Bush won.
