I am not qualified to figure it out because I like Obama and find McCain to be a very scary, very bitter, very un-presidential weak man. Why weak? When one has to be belittle one's opponent as your only tactic then it seems to me that you're the loser.

So McCain stood there trying to sound more knowledgable yet on so many points the lies or ignorance was obvious.
Obama couldn't answer what he would be able to cut specifically.McCain couldn't answer that either and irresponsibly said he would spend everything - yeah right bull****.
On the economy, McCain just didn't get it, and had to continually mischaracterize or flat out lie.
I don't think there was a clear winner though, It think both did quite a decent job - McCain clearly looked annoyed though, maybe loosing his temper again?

Anyone just hear Biden on CNN?
He is on fire.
If he is even 1 tenth as aggressive vs Palin, its going to be a train wreck.
Seriously... that man is READY and eager.
I think he is having a hard time accepting that he does not get to debate right now.
I wonder what Palin is doing at this moment?

Maybe it was McCain's lack of preparation....but Obama clearly won this debate.
This was supposed to be McCain's strength and for Obama to come through this debate all he had to do was stand his ground.
Not only did he stand his ground, Obama clearly came across as the person who was more knowledgeable, more prepare and has better judgement.
McCain did do better in the second half of the debate than he did in the first. But he still just seemed ill prepared to be on the stage tonight.
There are two debate to go...but McCain supporters have to be a little concerned after McCain's performance tonight.

Gender: | Re: Who won the debate tonight? I think both candidates handled their own and did well. Of course, Obama supporters will think he clearly won and McCain supporters will think he clearly won. I think there were various ups and downs, but no clear winner. Unfortunately, both candidates are very close in the polls and debates like this are supposed to widen that margin a bit. I think it's obvious that this debate won't change that much. Hopefully upcoming debates will do better in that regard. |
