Re: Q for Iraq War Supporters

No.

I think the two things are seperate issues. Its not like if we hadn't gone into Iraq, the housing bubble wouldn't have burst. Sure the spending on both these issues is very high, but I think we are capable of succeeding on both fronts here. Iraq is coming along now, and spending there should start receding as we draw closer to conclusion. We have a responsibility to the people of Iraq(and to future allies we may help out) to finish what we started. We need to set a precedent in our foreign policy that we will not run at first sign of trouble.

Prehaps, if there wasn't so much focus on trying to exit Iraq early, Congress would have done more to ensure the stability of the housing market before it fell apart. Thats just speculation on my part, as I doubt they would have done anything anyway.

You don't have to be a professor of history to understand that it is likely to cost much more, in both dollars and lives, if we left now.

The only professor that might think that is Professor Farnsworth.

Re: Q for Iraq War Supporters

I am extremely against the Invasion of Iraq.

And even i vote NO.

No one is for "immediately" getting out.

Even with Obama's early plan, it would have taken a couple of years to get out.
Just the logistics alone takes a year or 2.

We are the ones that destroyed Iraq's security.
That makes us responsible for protecting and assisting them.

What needs to be done is to start withdrawing in such a way that it sends a clear signal to the Iraqi Government but still provides them with enough support.

No. I do not want a bail out period regardless if there is a couple of wars being waged or not. I am sure there are lots of people who are for and those who are against the wars that feel the same way.

Re: Q for Iraq War Supporters

The costs of leaving right now outweigh the immediate "relief" it would give to the economy.
