| Re: What was McCain's true motivation? This was another political game from Mr. "Country First."
I like how, while all this was going on, you heard all sorts of McCain people saying "Harry Reid called McCain to come back to Washington! He said no bill would pass without McCain's help!" That was the biggest line of BS ever. Reid called for McCain to say where he stood on the bailout bill, something he still hasn't done. He never called for McCain to come back to Washington and he never said that the bill couldn't get done without his help.
Also, "I'm suspending my campaign" was a joke. He gave an interview and a speech following that announcement, he closed no offices, he pulled no ads, he pulled no surrogates. Essentially, he did the exact same thing Obama did- he spent a day and a half in Washington before the debate. Still, somehow, he suspended his campaign and Obama did not.
I have lost all respect for this guy entirely.
There was a pundit on CNN, I think, who said it best a few days ago. McCain is a betting man and he made an all in bet on the stupidity of the American people last week. We'll see if it pays off very soon. |
