Re: What was McCain's true motivation?

This was another political game from Mr. "Country First."

I like how, while all this was going on, you heard all sorts of McCain people saying "Harry Reid called McCain to come back to Washington! He said no bill would pass without McCain's help!" That was the biggest line of BS ever. Reid called for McCain to say where he stood on the bailout bill, something he still hasn't done. He never called for McCain to come back to Washington and he never said that the bill couldn't get done without his help.

Also, "I'm suspending my campaign" was a joke. He gave an interview and a speech following that announcement, he closed no offices, he pulled no ads, he pulled no surrogates. Essentially, he did the exact same thing Obama did- he spent a day and a half in Washington before the debate. Still, somehow, he suspended his campaign and Obama did not.

I have lost all respect for this guy entirely.

There was a pundit on CNN, I think, who said it best a few days ago. McCain is a betting man and he made an all in bet on the stupidity of the American people last week. We'll see if it pays off very soon.

You'll see that I voted for a little of each, but don't let that deter you from showing your ass.

Whatever. I just think it's lame to call others to task about a topic while in agreement with them.

Schieffer: Paulson Pleaded for McCain to Save Bailout

Video here:

So the democrats were telling us they were very close to an agreement and did not need John McCain butting in. Well that was a lie. They were nowhere near close if there were only 4 republicans in agreement!

The democrats have done nothing but politicize this thing and point fingers and make up stories. We all are very aware of who caused this crisis and who tried to prevent it.

When more people come out with this story, I'll believe it. When it's coming from Lindsey Graham, I accord the story NO probative value.
