It's undenyable that there is a large amount of bias both in policy and media coverage.

I voted "Yes."

And the reason why is because Islam is so different from our most basic principles of human rights that when we deal with them we must tolerate their basic difference in equality of man.

With Israel there is no difference between their sense of equality and our own.

And in the case of the Palestinian issue (which I believe is the primary reason for anyone complaining of a double standard), we believe that Israel has just as much right to the land as the Palestinians yet the Palestinians are intransigent on this issue and have been the source of unending violence and hatred since 1948 at least.

And we won't even talk about the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem during WWII who collaborated with Hitler to exterminate Jews and even helped recruit a Muslim division of Nazi troops. This was before statehood. Historians debate whether his opposition to Zionism was based on nationalism or antisemitism or a combination of both.

If the Palestinians looked at our relations with Jordan, Saudi Arabia, with Kuwait and Egypt they might realize we even have a double standard with THOSE nations and the Palestinians.

Why? Due to the Palestinian's refusal to be reasonable.
