also, in all honesty, you can still cook the system through various psychological impairments. you'd be amazed what bull**** you can get SSI for.
you can also get SSI for drug addiction.
yes, the government will pay you to be a smack addict.
if you're a disabled women with children you're pretty much set- there's literally thousands of programs for them across the national, state and local spectrum.

1) The CEO of Countrywide Mortgage.
2) The CEO of JP Morgan.
3) The CEO of Bear Sterns.
4) The CEO of Freddie Mac.
5) The CEO of Fannie Mae.
6) The CEO of IndyMac.
Just to name a few. They were incompetent, and ran their firms into the ground, but they got their welfare money with no problems, thanx to government bailouts.

I didn't really know him, but he was talking about how his wife just got a job. But he quit his, because they would make too much to get whatever assistance they were getting from the government. I don't know if you really consider that abusing the system, but I think its one of the dumbest things I ever heard.

Last time I talked to her, she was on her 5th child.

The EIC is the only tax credit that gives you money back that you did not actually pay in. The purpose of it is to provide income assistance to single parents and very low income working parents. If you go out and get a boob job with the EIC, then your abusing the program. Its not that you took your tax refund and got a boob job, its that you took a taxpayer funded handout that is supposed to help you raise your kids, and got a boob job.
As to directly spending it on a boob job, you get your refund check when you hardly worked at all, the entire check is the EIC, and you take that along with the state version of it, and you get a boob job. Just like people do the same thing on down payments for cars and the like.

Lean: Moderate Gender: Awards: | Re: Do you personally know of anyone that has abused a public assistance/welfare syst Neighbors with adequate assets, paid for, new Toyota Avalon and big motor home, paid for, but low income on paper, and going down to the free commodities hand out and getting groceries. Their networth was easily half a million at the time....
One of my sisters scamming local churches for money and food assistance.
My younger brother who has never worked since he got "disabled" out of the service for bad hearing, which limits his job prospects, but only a little. If he hadn't inherited the dump my parents had, he would be on the street. He gets money to sit on his butt.
Idaho neighbor in an FHA subsidized home, paying very little, and still trying to deduct interest he wasn't paying on his income tax. His house didn't even qualify for the program.
I know a lot more.....
