Me? Felicity? Lessee here... Scucca? Korimyr? Monk-Eye, for Chrissake?? He completely buries all of the above when it comes to articulateness.
What about the forum's gay contingent? New Coup? Jallman?? New Coup??
Come on, people. You'd include Zyphlin (why not just make it a contest between, like... Southern Belle and Trinity and Jerry and George W Bush?), but not Jfuh, not Urethra Franklin, not... bleh. This contest is teh Suck.
It's sort of like a beauty contest where the only contestants are Dick Cheney, Janet Reno, a piece of dried dog crap, or "Other". | All these people you mention fit into the "other" category provided by Lightdemon, if you didn't know. Its his list, maybe he isn't impressed with some of the people you mention. I'm only really impressed with 3 of them myself.
I'd throw Kelzie up there too. But donsutherland is the bomb. The guy is unflappable. Nobody else is nearly as good of a writer as he is. He gets his points across without all the emotional rhetoric, doesn't get caught up in flame fests, treats everybody with respect, and on the subjects he discusses, he is always well informed. He's the model of civil debate, IMO.
Monk-Eyes style was unique and challenging. He made you think, but he would get caught up from time to time with posters. And he doesn't post anymore. But I did like his style.

After that, it's me, of course.

I know I'll never be that articulate like some of those people mentioned. It just doesn't fit in with my meat and potatoes lifestyle. Plus I can't try too hard, or else it would be hypocritical of me to hand out Spelling and Grammar Nazi awards. |

I often find myself agreeing with your posts, but I'm sorry, you're just down right manipulative. So much so, that I couldn't put you up there with my list of honorable mentions. I mean, look at what I'm quoting you on above...
Stop trying to throw my thread into the basement. I intended this to be some sort of a recognition of DP's best contributors, not a contest.

Both of them present arguments that are readable, understandable, chock full of information, and both know how to respond and refute both intelligently, and with, usually, winning results. Both of them construct very well written posts.

Current Mood: | Re: Who is the most articulate poster? From the person in this list Gunny is the most articulate poster, with distance to the others. If I wanted to go further with this "Other" options, there is UtahBill and DeeJayH, who are pretty good, too. If they had been in the list, maybe I would have voted for them.
I don't know, why Tashah is in this list at all. Boy, she does this personal stuff whenever she is running out of arguments, and this is like always.
Iriemon's views are much closer to my views, but this was not the question. Don is articulate, but I mostly know him from Middle East Forum, where I feel like kinda knowing about his view about a new topic, before I read the first line of his post. It is more interesting to read posts from people like the good Reverend, you know, he is less predictable. |

I am not one who is easily impressed. I met Don at another forum and he impressed the high holy hell out of me. Needless to say, I ::ahem:: “stole” Don and brought him here to DP
By any metric, Don is the very best and deserves all accolades.
