Iraq is a war we can't win no matter how many lives we throw away or how many years we stay there. The only way to "win" the war is to end fundamentalist Islam and that's sure not going to happen any time soon. | |

By win do you mean militarily defeating the Baathist regime, toppling Saddam and so forth? Mission accomplished!
Does winning mean that we realize that we no longer have anything to gain in Iraq and leaving? That would consitute a major victory in my opinion.
Does winning mean staying there forever? Or until Iraq becomes a Jeffersonian democracy that sells us an infinite supply of oil for $3 a barrel?

If all you're going to do is avoid the question, why bother posting?
Victory in Iraq is, here at least, defined as a position where Iraq has bcome a stable democracy, able to tend to its own security and political processes.
