Affirmative Action is not racism. It is racial, and there may be better ways to do things, but it is not racism.

You are right, the American Dream promises the opportunity to achieve success. In fact, that is important. Black Americans by and large have fewer opportunities for that success. That is what AA seeks to correct. I doubt it is the best method, but the goal of equal opportunity is to my mind a good one. I personally think AA is bad because it breeds resentment, which is long term damaging to society, and because it attacks the symptom of the problem, instead of the cause. Neither of these objections to it make it racism though.

Slavery was around in the 50s and 60s? I thought that was the injustice that warrants all this racist discrimination against white people today. I suppose when you're making excuses for people who never even experienced racial injustices, there really is no rhyme or reason to where you draw the line.

Right. What makes it racism is giving career and educational advantages to people and denying it to others based on race, which you would be the first to admit if such racist proposals were made for whites at the expense of blacks.
