Do you actually think its just a coincidence that when Bush took office gas was $1.46 a gallon and now it is about $4.00?
:doh

There are a lot of factors. one being China and other countries have increased their need for oil considerably........

It does not matter who the President is.....

So that fact that Bush and his Oil buddies are raking in obscene record profits all the while the American consumer is struggling....just another coincidence.....right? Yeah....it absolutely doesn't matter who the President is.....riiiiighht.

and invading Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with oil.....

"Fool me once....shame on you".....

Of course it didn't. Saddam was the mastermind behind the attacks on our soil on Sept. 11, 2001. Retribution was demanded!

Like... duh.

Don't you ever get tired of the old stale spin and talking points? Its obvious that the voters don't believe them anymore...........

Acutally the only people tha believed that were the dumb left but whatever floats your boat........

Move to Venezuela. They're paying 12 cents per gallon. Or you could move to Norway, where it's at $6.82/gallon.

That's only because Venezuela subsidizes gas prices.

What?
Is that why the vast majority....not just a simple majority but the VAST majority of the people in this country say that the Iraq invasion was a mistake and believe that we should bring the troops home NOW?

Surely you are not that delusional?

Since when did you become a lefty Navy?

Actually.....it has been the people on the left that have been trying to educate the misinformed people of America that actually fed into the administration propoganda that tried to link 911 and Iraq.

Even your "great and inspired world leader" hero said that the hardest job he as had as President is trying to link Iraq with 911.....freudian slip? I don't think so.

And if you ask them if they want to win the war in Iraq and then leave you will see a much different figure.......

Well, he techically said, "One of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror"

Transcript: President Bush, Part 2, Couric's Interview With President Bush - CBS News

BUSH: Well, I mean that a defeat in Iraq will embolden the enemy and will provide the enemy – more opportunity to train, plan, to attack us. That's what I mean. There – it's – you know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror. I believe it. As I told you, Osama bin Laden believes it. But the American people – have gotta understand that a defeat in Iraq – in other words, if this government there fails - the terrorists will be emboldened, the radicals will topple moderate governments.

That is a huge difference...........

"any special transportation needs," to go with those high gas price disruptions?

It is not about where one is going, it is about an open mind.

"The President’s Executive Order on Environmental Justice further amplifies Title VI by
providing that “each Federal agency shall make achieving environmental justice part of its mission by identifying and addressing, as appropriate, disproportionately high and adverse human health or environmental effects of its programs, policies, and activities on minority populations and low-income populations.' "...Long Range Transportation Plan. The results of the demographic analysis will be used to identify geographic sub-areas in the Volusia County MPO Planning Area with high minority and low-income populations (hereinafter referred to as 'Environmental Justice Areas')." http://www.volusiacountympo.com/doc...apters/Chapter 04 - Environmental Justice.pdf

"tailor transportation projects to fit the particular needs of a community," which just happens NOT to be mine.

I signed the petition to get public transportation on the ballot, and voted for it, but Florida Bush shot it down. If I want to take a train to old Terminus from here...what a joke.

From a local Paper:

"Florida DOT District 5 Secretary Noranne Downs announced Thursday that, at Disney's request, the state has agreed to give Lynx $4.86 million in fees that he state has charged Disney World in recent years. Those fees were collected under Florida's growth-management laws, to make up for the giant resort's effect on area roads and highways...The new Disney grants follow the $470,000 in grants the company gave the bus agency last year to help pay for extended routes and extended, late-night service between Disney World and several neighborhoods that are home to many Disney employees."
(Orlando Sentinel, April 25, 2008, page C1)

From various sites within the main website Votran Official Website - Volusia County's Public Transit System Transit commuter benefits :

"Those traditionally underserved and underrepresented in the transportation
planning process will be actively sought out and encouraged to express their
views and concerns."
Volusia County MPO - Planning Documents

"Standard daily service runs from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday - Saturday, with limited fixed route service on Sunday and at night. The frequency of most routes is one hour, with a few operating on the half-hour."

"At most agencies perhaps 10% to 30% of riders must transfer to a second (and sometimes a third) vehicle to reach their final destination."

"The majority of people using public transportation take two trips per day (one to work in the morning and one home in late afternoon or evening)."

One typically leaves for work before first bus from "Environmental Justice Area" reaches hood:

"One in four households have no access to public transportation, and one half have limited service."

----- {Changed separator to protect the innocent}

If the "affluent" want to spend money at a venue, or go shopping, the public transportation is perfect.

Navy and disney...stop derailing this thread plz. ThankQ.

So many people voted for "already significantly disruptive".
Anyone care to share any things they have seen to back this up?

The super fast paced inflation that we are about to experience on all goods and services has not even kicked in yet.
The dollar will continue to weaken and this will continue to drive the price of gas higher.
If you think things are significantly disruptive now, how will you define it once the inflation catches up to the dollar and gas is over $5.00?
Also, do you think that gas will not continue to push past $5.00?
If you think it will stop, then please explain how that is remotely possible.

Nobody showed up for BCR, but they claim it had to do with a lack of BET; didn't see any BET in front of my house at 3:00 AM when the trip cost a third of what it does now.

I did not see ANY Economy cars during BCR.

Tourist state complaining about a lack of money; no complaints when gas was a dollar.

South Florida sees $4 gas, and higher soon - 04/19/2008 - MiamiHerald.com

Florida governor suggests temporary gas tax cut - AP - National Business News - Portfolio.com

Choke, choke, cough...

"A gallon of gas could get a little cheaper if Gov. Charlie Crist goes forward with a proposal to suspend or reduce state gas taxes, but the cut could cost the state tens of millions of dollars at a time when the budget is already tight...he said Wednesday that giving drivers a break at the pump during the summer travel season...Any way we can try to relieve that economic pressure for our fellow Floridians, we need to do it."

SHARK...SHARK!
