If I'm not driving or at work, I'll pull out the Jack whenever I feel like it, whether it be 9pm or 9am.

I remember a line Sam Kinnison said about alcoholism. He said he looked at a sobriety program. They charged 12,000 dollars. He said "if you have 12,000 dollars, you don't have a problem yet".

In any debate about mental health problems, alcoholism included, I do tend to side with "functional" over "normal" as the standard.

That being said, getting hammered at 9AM is ****ed up.

I've never understood people who take a shot in the morning to kill their hangover.

It doesn't do anything for my hangovers, it just makes me vomit horribly.

Shots in general are awful. I really like beer. I don't just drink it because I get drunk. I like how it tastes. vodka does not taste good.

That is completely incorrect.

Binge drinking is a completely social phenomenon and does not indicate any kind of unhealthy dependance on alcohol. Getting trashed on friday night is totally normal, not that unhealthy and does not impair a productive and social contributive lifestyle.

Many normal productive mature adults with healthy emotional lives get excessively drunk on the weekends.

In some ways it depends where you come from.

As long as you not reaching for vodka first thing in the morning i think your ok.But generally its best to only drink at night i hate seeing drunk people in the daytime.

alcohol does alot more good then harm. Living in cities, with so many people packed into such a dense area, is extremely abnormal to the human psyche. Substances provide a neccessary social release valve for tension.

Your statement depends on context and is not always correct. Consistent binge drinking can be indicative of a problem, and can indicate an unhealthy dependence on alcohol. Getting trashed on a Friday night is not always totally normal. One who gets excessively drunk most or every weekend, may have a problem. One cannot make an absolute statement about this issue. It is very situational.
