I know he only actually takes office tomorrow but based on all you've seen so far, limited as it is, is Trump better or worse than you hoped/feared, or about what you expected?

He's pretty much the same as I expected he would be.

Maybe he'll change his demeanor over the course of his Presidency, but that remains to be seen.

I'd have to say no surprises do far. I AM hoping that he builds some bridges. If he wants to, I think he'll be awesome at it. I'm beginning to wonder about him and Paul Ryan. ;)

Other. let's wait until he gets congress critters to actually do something.

Trump can build bridges if he wants to. He can try to help rebuild our infrastructure (which was one of his campaign goals). He can at the very least try to speak out against money in politics.

Trump can do a lot of good things with his position.

Ryan and McConnell will be telling trump what to do.

Unless trump wants a select committee thrown at him by Mitch .

Oh, he's better than I hoped, definitely. For one thing, I didn't see the Twitter stuff coming- that's been gold.
I'm hoping he'll be strong enough to stay unleashed and uncensored. It's gonna be a hoot!
Except for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I hope they keep a lid on him.

So early in to tell, but I voted 'worse' because I dislike many of his cabinet and department picks - starting with his very first picks.

Steve Bannon, as co-secretary of staff? Wha? Can it get worse, than that? I think not!

All I have to go off of is what he has said and who he has nominated. Based on his appointments I would say he is doing slightly worse than I expected. I figured he would stop acting like a petty child on the internet as the weight of the Office started to settle on him. Nope. I thought there was a good chance he would make an attempt to live up to his promise to drain the swamp but that was a big deceit. Sure, he didn't appoint the same ol' politicians and lobbyists. He just appointed the people who would pay off the same ol' politicians. It is more efficient, I suppose. Now we can have corruption without the middleman.

Anyway, those are just my initial impressions. We'll see how it actually plays out. Maybe I am wrong about Trump. I have certainly been wrong about him before.

I don't think this is entirely wrong. I'm pretty convinced that what we're going to get is a Pence presidency with a side of Twitter.

Being I never knew what to expect from Trump, I still don't. So I am in a wait and see mode. What I am curious about is whether Trump as president will revert to his life long held political views or maintain the ones he changed to run for the presidency as a Republican. I really don't know what to expect or to compare to. There has been times while out one the campaign trail he stated one thing one day, the complete opposite the next and denied saying anything at all on the third.

I really don't know how people can think they know what to expect from him. Perhaps their own made up views, mostly partisan views of Trump. But so far he has been more of an enigma to me. So I will sit, watch and listen. Am I leery of Trump, sure I am, but that is more due to not knowing what to expect from him than anything concrete.

Honestly, better..... I won't know for sure until he actually starts doing ****. but, I am open to see what he can do.

I have HUGE reservations, but at many turns, he seems like he wants to do right by people and this country which I can't deny.

because, trump has been all about doing what peoples have told him thus far........

Worse. Before the election, I saw signs of it: saying stupid things for the consumption of the stupid while having his minions go out and explain to normal people that Trump didn't really mean what he said in the rallies; but I didn't expect him to keep it up as he took office. And, I certainly did not expect to see him nominate people to his cabinet who actively want to destroy the departments they are appointed to head.

This next stretch of years are going to be nuts. Maybe he ****s it up so bad the D take over Congress in 2018. We'll see.

How the **** should I know, HE ISN'T IN OFFICE YET!!

I thanked you, but to be fair, you can look at his proactive approach of scaring the **** out of american companies to bring back american jobs.....

I have been pleasantly surprised and impressed with Mr. Trump's actions so far. He has wasted no time in getting right down to the grindstone, even before he has been sworn into office. Like with his predecessor, I'll keep an open but guardedly cynical mind and eye on him. I'm surprised to say that I am more optimistic about his turn as POTUS than I have been of any president in my lifetime. So as the old saying goes, let us give him all the rope he needs. There will be time to strangle him with it later on.

The cabinet is mostly Great, word is that he is doing great at getting Ryan et al on the team, gave those incompetent assholes in the intel community a couple of raps on the head, pushed back against Obama the right amount, talking to anyone who will talk to him who might be able to help either now or in the future as Trump learns about these things he is going to have to deal with, has already got the defense establishment coming up with ways to work faster/cheaper...

Ya, pretty much what I expected.

Same on the conflicts of interest front, and quite a bit worse on the international front. About a year ago I warned that he was going to cause chaos for international treaties and alliances, and so far that's being completely demonstrated with his upending our alliance with Europe and the opinions he's voiced on countries getting nuclear weapons. Our intelligence community also seems to be so afraid that he's in Putin's pocket they're cautioning our allies against sharing intelligence with a Trump White House because they're concerned he'll turn around and share it with Russia.

So far he is what I expected from him. I have seen him in the financial world and know a bit about how he operates he is not quite the enigma to me at least. I would say that by the end of his term I would say people will be mostly mildly surprised in a good way, with him biting people in the butt on a couple of things on the account that he is a shark and likes to get his way and some of his views diverge from his voters. He hates losing and likes making deals, so expect a lot of deal making and if people come after him, he will not back down. That's just his nature. He's a New York boy so that should be expected. Ultimately his presidency will probably known as fairly good, with the potential to be pretty impressive, just like the deals he made in real estate and business. It all depends on upcoming events as to how that plays out to how good his presidency will be. The answer to the question will we be better off four years from now will most likely be yes.

All that said like the old man says, we shall see. I am hedging my bets regardless. I make my own economy. I suggest others do the same.

Trump will be the first PINO. If he gets two terms the presidency might be a figurehead position by the time he's done.

The man is not even in office for another 24 hours yet you are already crediting him with having upended our alliances with Europe? Which part? What country? The intelligence agencies of the US "seem" to be afraid that Trump is in Putin's pocket and might share our intel with Russia? And you say also that they are warning our allies about this? Oh my what a dense load of fecund scatology you bring to the table Cardinal. Please take no offense as I ask, are you drunken man?

Well aren't you a nice man.

Who cares if I am a nice man or a smelly man for that matter? The question here is are you a drunken one? Because I can't help but notice you posted a lot of bae. Tell me, did you think it would go unnoticed? I don't even have to ask you for credible sources for your bae do I? Have another tug on the flagon for me. If you crawl out of your horn later on, the question was:

Seems you took offense after all. Why bother coming here if your skin is so translucent and thin?
