Are you going to watch Trump's inauguration?

Me: No, I will not. Not for any boycott or noble reasons. Just that pomp and circumstance like that bores me to tears. I have never, ever, watched an inauguration, and I see no reason to start now. If anything interesting happens I can catch it on the news later.

Probably not.

I'll likely see clips of it later anyway, and I have better things to do.

And I watch them all. So I see no reason to not watch on Friday as well.

No

I have dental surgery on Fri and I will be on drugs and in lib la la land all afternoon

I never watch inaugurations.

I prefer to enjoy my day normally, and then wait to what surprises the new administration comes up with thereafter.

I am frankly just hoping things will end up better than I think they will.

No, no interest.

I advise the rabid anti trump crowd not to watch trump being sworn in

Why torture yourselves unnecessarily?

In fact take the next four years off while we run the country

Yes. I expect great things from Trump. He is unlike anything this country has ever seen before. He has nothing to gain personally, but his ego will drive him to do a fantastic job.

Ditto. I think I watched one inauguration way back around 30 years ago. One was plenty. Ceremony tends to bore the **** out of me.

Why start now?

I disagree. One, I think he will absolutely try to benefit financially. That's who he is and what he does. He is not a selfless person by any measure. Two, even if he doesn't gain financially, his ego is huge* and requires constant feeding. As long as people adore him he gets personal benefit from that.

*-I believe his insecurities are huge as well, and is part of why his ego needs are so high maintenance, but that's a side issue.

As best I can tell most Americans, me included, will be working during the ceremony. So no.

Even if the ceremony was on a Saturday I would not watch it though.
Unless I needed some incentive to take a nap.

We all know how low ratings effect Comrade Trumps psyche, I for one shall be switching off the TV, not into viewing train wrecks.

I will be watching on either Swedish or British TV. A great celebration of a great democracy, the USA.

Nope. I'd think I'd rather be more interested watching paint dry.

Any man who BRAGS about what he does for charity, is clearly not doing it for charity, its to fufill a longing for validation, the man has many character defects which when combined with the power of the office, make him potentially dangerous. Hopefully, Pence will be kept close, he is the sane one in the room.

Basically the same. I have never watched one in my life and see no need to start now. There's been 17 inaugurations since I was born and never watched a single one. The news later on will carry what Trump had to say in his speech and anything else of importance.

Since I'm not a party man, I tend to feel all the inaugurations festives are more of a victory celebration for the candidate and the party that won. If they weren't, there would be a single solemn ceremony of swearing in and a few words by the next president and then it would be back to business as usual, the daily grind with out all the balls and such.

Agreed, and I've always thought that a second term should be treated exactly that way, though for a first term I can see some celebratory aspects being reasonable.

Nope, I don't care. I have never watched an inauguration before and am not about to start now.

Nope, it is like watching grass grow or paint dry - it is going to happen with or without my participation. ;)

I watched Obama's inauguration on TV, so yes, I will be watching Trump's inauguration and all the hoop-la associated with it on TV, too - but you couldn't pay me to be in DC tomorrow! With all the hostile over-the-top feelings this election has generated, I'd be afraid I might miss something important if I didn't watch! I pray that things go as smoothly as possible.....

Be sure to send Putin a thank you card.
