Hillary Lost Because Of

Hillary Lost The Election Because Of:

  • The Comey Letter

    Votes: 10 8.7%
  • The Russian Hacking

    Votes: 4 3.5%
  • Hillary

    Votes: 101 87.8%

  • Total voters

Hillary lost because she and the Dem Party took what is still a large significant voting block known as whites/white males as now being insignificant. And that dismissal bit her and them in the butt.

The other items didn't help her cause, but this one was their deepest failure.

And don't forget Trumps message to Congress...He means business.
Trump further complicated matters over the weekend when he told The Washington Post that he was nearly finished with his own plan to replace Obamacare and warned that he won't let Congress get in his way.
"The Congress can't get cold feet because the people will not let that happen," Trump said.

Although he didn't offer much in the way of details, the incoming president's comment that he wants both "insurance for everybody" with "much lower deductibles" sets the stage for a potential clash and drawn out negotiations with Republican lawmakers who have been stressing universal access over universal coverage.

Trump took a page out of bill clintons political strategy playbook. He triangulated his positions.

Not because of things on RT, but the slow, steady drip drip from Wikileaks....

While almost everything that was leaked was benign, and paled in comparison to the dirt on the opposition guy, it reinforced the narratives about Clinton. Moreover, they were brilliantly released very slowly and annoying, like chinese water torture. I am thinking this has a bigger impact that we give it credit.

It is very plausible (I am saying plausible, not certain or even probable) that the Wikileaks narrative dulled whatever enthusiasm voters had for Clinton such that some combination of 85,000 people in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin stayed home or 42,500 decided to vote the other way... enough to change the election outcome.

This is why this needs to be investigated. Trump needs to acknowledge not only the fact of the Russian breach, but needs to articulate the seriousness of it. Until he does so, I think it is fair for Americans to think he is "guilty". In other words, that the Russian hacks happened and my have effected the outcome.

The scary thing is that Moscow sympathizers were once professionally ruined, whether they were in politics or Hollywood, especially by Republicans. Now we elect them President.

Are we also going to invesitigate the media leaking off the record information about trump too? Those stories might have influenced voters too.

Your time is coming. Trump is not the savior of the Conservative cause, he is it's death knell. Trump just promised everybody great health insurance even if they can't pay for it. How's that sit with you?
Is that what he promised?

Yessiree and he even warned Congress not to stand in his way.

“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” Trump said. “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.” People covered under the law “can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much simplified form. Much less expensive and much better.”

And this man is going to be EVERYONES doctor...

This in a poll thread that shows 90% of the posters who voted said that the main reason Hillary lost was because of Hillary. I used to think that you were just a diehard lefty but this post shows that you are headed for the same room with the conspiracy theorists.

I agree that Hillary was the primary reason she lost.

As I well explained in post #23, Comey was the straw the broke the camel's back and Russia/Wikileaks had a role. When you lose a game by 1 point, you can attribute the 1 point to many things. It starts by why did you let them get so close to win by one point? But, the 2 points that flip the outcome is often something small at the end of the game (like a field goal in a 36-35 game), or in this case the Comey letter or Russian/Wiklleaks. Much like the field goal may have won a high scoring game, the field goal wasn't the game. Russia/Wikileaks could have made the difference in the outcome (the field goal), but it wasn't the game (the failure of the stronger team to have put away the opponent early so it would not come down to a field goal).

As to the Russian hacking: this is a very big deal. I did lay out a scenario of how it could have easily tripped the election. Until Trump denounces Putin (which he seems to be into too much of a man-crush ever to do) and endorses the senate effort to get to the bottom of it, I will be on this issue and on those that support him. It isn't a conspiracy theory; its a major concern all Americans should have.

Scenarios are just scenarios. Evidence is evidence. I agree we need to do something about hacking from hostile countries. As president, Obama should have put a stop to it because it has been going on for years. Hacking the DNC is nothing. The Pentagon has been hacked. The IRS has been hacked. All Obama did was ask them to please stop. Trump has said he will do something about it even if we have to cut the cord and go back to using pen and paper again.

Yeah,we all know that Trump had some awesome policies. :lamo
She actually had documents -- he had billet points, so don't try to convince me she had no policy. You obviously did not visit her website.
And yes... there are people who didn't vote for her because she's a woman. Just like there were people who didn't vote for Obama because he's black.

How many people would you suggest didn't vote for her only because she was a woman?

Whatever that figure is, it is probably far outweighed by the number of women who voted for Hillary simply because she was a woman and nothing else.

The problem is that Hillary did indeed have policies and the voters hated them so much that they chose someone with no concrete policies over her concrete policies.

He did not promise great health insurance which is my contention but yes he is promising to make some kind of coverage affordable to everyone. Color me skeptical on that promise but i will wait to see what he rolls out before lambasting him.

Personally i dont realistically see hos great or affordable is possible to everyone.

You have to remember that's why Obama won in the first place. Liberals were coming out of the woodwork to vote for a black man, people were registering to vote for the first time just to be able to vote for a black man. Much of his appeal was that he was black. For a group that pretends to be anti-racism, they sure do talk about and pay attention to race a lot.

3 million more voted for her. So I would say that your point is not correct.

I have no idea. If I had to guess, maybe 5-7%?

You think 7% of people didn't vote for her because of her gender? That is a huge amount of people. I would suggest less than 1%.

Its not hard to run up the vote in California and New York. That's the only reason she won the popular vote.

You make a dishonest argument because Trump only went for the electoral votes to win while Hillary went for the popular vote, which she won. If the election were decided by popular vote then Trump would have campaigned for the popular vote. You can't take the votes from an electoral vote election and use those same figures for if the election had been by popular vote. Take California away and more people voted for Trump than for Hillary. What about the fact of all the Democratic losses over the last six years in the US House and Senate and many governorships and state houses? Not only is the country painted red as a whole but if you take individual states the country is still painted red. Republicans have the most control of government of any party since 1928.

How do you know that? That's a dumb assumption. She knows the rules as well or better than Trump. She went for the EC as well, she just lost several close key states.

HRC lost focus by going for the landslide in swing states and even red states rather than locking down her blue base.

Ok. I'll give you that but the point is that since both candidates were going for the electoral vote you really can't assume that if the rules were changed that the popular vote totals would not have been changed as well and Jack Hayes is also correct.

Interesting that in this poll of "Trump won because of" 62% voted Hillary

Interesting that in the poll of "Hillary lost because of" 61% voted Hillary

Hillary.

But I don't think she lost. She won the popular vote - that is all that matters to me (I could care less about the electoral college arguments).

I despise both her and Trump and their respective parties...but in my book, she won the election.

Out of both polls only 3 people out of 121 voted for Russian hacking and yet liberals on DP seem so convinced that the Russian hacking actually influenced the election.
