Right after the election the left blamed her loss on the Comey letter, then it was the Russian hacking, and now it seems to have shifted back to the Comey letter again. I wish they would make up their minds or accept the results of the election and the peaceful transition of power. Three choices in this poll only. No all or some of the above or other.
I have to say after the election, on Wednesday morning I was totally surprised Trump won. But Hillary has only herself to blame for the loss. Trump out campaigned her, 116 campaign visits, rallies, appearances to 71 for Hillary from 1 Sep to 8 Nov. Some of those 71 were fund raisers for Hillary in deep blue California and New York. In the three states that made the difference, Trump out campaigned Hillary in appearances and thus media attention on the local news six to zero in Wisconsin. In Michigan, Trump five, Hillary one. Pennsylvania was closer, 8-5 Trump. Even in Florida Trump made 13 appearances to Clinton's 8. Trump never took a day off, Clinton took several.
Even when hubby Bill told Hillary she was in trouble in Michigan the week of the campaign, Hillary ignored Bill and continued to campaign and spend in places like Iowa, even Georgia and Arizona. She in my opinion was trying to run up the score instead of concentrating on winning. I also think the FBI, Comey, the classified e-mails were already baked into the equation. That had been around forever and people had already made up their minds on that. Wiki leaks, embarrassing, especially to Sanders supporters who always thought the Democratic primaries were rigged in Hillary's favor, the e-mails proved it. There is a very good possibility it caused some, maybe a lot of Sanders supporters to stay home and not vote at all. They didn't like Hillary to begin with and at times referring to her as "Wall Street Hillary."
Exit polls showed Sanders supporters voted 65 to 22 in favor of Clinton with 13% voting third party. Compare that to those who affiliated with the Democratic Party, they went to Hillary 89-8 with 3% voting third party. In Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, those Sanders no shows and Hillary receiving 24 points lower than average probably cost her there. Then there was the union household vote, Obama won them by 18 points over Romney, Hillary by just 8 over Trump. Trump addressed the fears, the apprehensions of the working class, Clinton basically ignored them promising to be Obama's third term.
I could point out a lot more things with numbers to back them up. But basically Clinton did 3-4 points worst than Obama in almost every voting block one can imagine or break down the electorate into. Trump matched Romney in almost every voting block, sometimes a point or two ahead of him, sometimes a point or two below, but he was right close where Clinton was far.
One last point, Trump energized his supporters, they were willing to go to the far corners of the earth for him. Hillary's supporters were more ho hum, laid back. They lacked enthusiasm. Trump may have come off as an idiot to those non-affiliated voters at times, but he didn't come off as aloof, part of the elite, the person next in line for the presidency as Hillary did. In short, Trump just out worked Hillary.
